Thesis statement: Understanding the reasons and demands for dark tourism in hospitality industry and suggestions for the growth of dark tourism in the future.

What are the reasons that lead to the existence of dark tourism? A. Motivation that puts tourist to select dark tourism 1. Education, monument and curiosity. (Cooper, 2006) 2. Personal relation within war, recreation and entertainment. (Sitton, 1999) B. The fear of phantoms 1. Overcoming childlike fears. (Stone, Sharpley, 2008)

Is there any demand for dark tourism? A. Interest in observation of the war relics is effective on travel to battlefields. (Gold, 2003, Sitton, 1996) B. Interest in national and spiritual heritage (Gold, 2003, Sitton, 1996) C. Fundamental requirement of understanding the underside and extricating customer motivation that is properly the current dark tourism debate. (Stone 2005)

Is there any suggestion to help growth of dark tourism? A. Recognizing and classifying charisma, the protected relics and built symbols for commemoration of war in the studied zone. 1. Consumption of dark tourism can help individuals, within a social structure, to address issue of personal meaningfulness a key to reality, thus to life and sustaining social order, and ultimately to the maintenance and continuity of overall well-being. B. Though, there are no statistic that showing the growth of dark tourism, research has shown the need for a comprehensive approach that include function and suggestion to help the growth of dark tourism in the future.
