INTRODUCTION
Creating and instilling a culture of efficient service delivery in which employees are encouraged and expected to go to great lengths to satisfy customers is another hallmark of a successful organization. High performing organizations work to create an environment where employees focus on service delivery (customer satisfaction) in each encounter, every day. For many organizations, including public sector social services, this requires a massive culture shift away from what is convenient for the organization to what is needed by the service users. WHY 5S SYSTEM?

The 5S approach will ensure sure that excess of objects (e.g., the number of components, the amount of stock, the method of assembly, even not treating people well) is considered "dirt" and should be "cleaned." The 5S technique tries to improve flow within the company. Finally, service offered will meeting customer requirement as being highlighted in Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000. Therefore 5S system is one of the pillars of Lean Office and also rich with layout techniques, tricks, inventory control methods and line balancing techniques. Five steps in 5S system are known as:

Seiketsu or Standardize I Create the rules for maintaining and controlling the first 3Ss and use visual controls. Shitsuke or Sustain I Ensure adherence to the 5S standards through communication, training and self-discipline.

SPEAKER
ISHAK SALLEH graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia in MBA (1988) and University
Malaya in B.Econ.Hons (1981). He received considerable Diploma in the areas of Management Consultancy (NPC&FGU, Germany), Professional Trainer&Consultant (Japan Productivity Centre) and Diploma in Management Development (British Manufacturing Companies Corporation/Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (BMCC/JPA (KL & UK). Additionally he received Quality Management Excellence Award (QMEA) certificate as qualified auditor (Malcolm Baldrage USA/NPC). He visited world class manufacturing company like Toyota Production System (TPS) and Denso Corporation in Japan and learned / benchmarked the way they were managing the business and successfully. For instant, Toyota Production System has embarked and implementing Lean Manufacturing System and they were highly focused on waste reduction (7 MUDA) in daily processes and operation systems. He had extensive experience as a trainer, coordinator, consultant and manager while attached with the National Productivity Corporation since 1982 (25 years). Started as a trainer in entrepreneurship development program, he later progressed into the area of TQM-Productivity and Quality, Shopfloor Management Programs related such as Practical 5S, Kaizen Application, Waste Management System, Visual Management Control, Innovative and Creative Circle, Total Productive Maintenance and Lean Manufacturing. He also had presented papers and conducted various training for international participants in Malaysia organized by NPC. As a Technical Expert Service he had conducted training in various countries such as India, Cambodia, Philippines and Laos PDR which were organized by Asian Productivity Organisation (based in Tokyo, Japan). He also had been invited to presented papers in the seminar organized by Japan Institute Corporation Association (JICA-KL/Japan) and Association and Overseas Technical Service (AOTS-KL/Japan).
