It is important for any country to make his economy strong. Banking operations and services are one of the basic needs of an economy. These include acceptance of deposits and disbursement of advances to individuals and others at higher rates. Banks perform various fundamental factions, which are directly or indirectly contributory towards economic and social development of countries. Financing is a practical function of a bank through which pace of activity accelerated in various sector of economy. Through this medium the wheels of trade, commerce and Industry are set in motion and effective financial contracts maintained with people in every occupation. The world has entered into a new era so has banking. This Internship report is actually a brief discussion of the functions and departments of the banks. In account opening department customer has to open an account and meet the general banking manager with document which is necessary for account opening. In 6une 5787, &r. "gha 0assan "bidi decided to open a bank different from others to provide modern banking facilities to trade and industry and to promote the habit of saving among common people. In the history of banking many bank faces various fraud which are largely due to incorrect account opening. The only way to put aside from fraud is that the designated officers, branch managers take care and e$ercised the reDuired precautions. "t the time of opening an account officers should tactfully obtain as much information as possible about the person. It is not saving account so customer cannot take any rate of return on it.

UBL is also providing lockers facilities to its customers. The account department also maintains the record about lockers. The basic purpose of locker is to provide safe custody to client-s valuable ornaments, :ewelry or documents. "lmost in all branches, ockers are available in different si?es at different rates. For availing this opportunity, customer has to open his account in the same branch/bank.

This application form contains all rules and regulation regarding to obtain a locker. !pecimen signature card is also filled in signed by the applicant. Bank assigns a password to their customer for secrecy. ,ach locker has duplicate keys. 3ne *master+ key is kept by the bank, and the other by the customer.

In case of opening any locker, first of all master key is applied and then the customer key. If the locker has been obtained :ointly then at the time of the opening, the person signed the application form, should be presented there otherwise, the bank will not allow to operate the locker. !afe deposit locker fee is recovered in advance or at the start of the year, half#year or Duarterly.
