Our Fall Festival was a fun-filled event for our community. As you can see from the pictures, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Children were asking when the next event was going to be and were excited to take home a pumpkin. Thank you to all the families for coming out and to our dedicated volunteers for the time you gave. Your help was very much appreciated. We also had many items donated for our event from the community. Look what we have in our lending library. The Reason I Jump is written by Naoki Higashida, a 13 year old boy with autism. This book provides insight on how the mind thinks, feels, perceives, and responds in an individual with autism. With the upcoming training on co-morbid conditions with Marjorie Hanft, some of you may want to borrow this book, Taking the Mystery Out of Medications in Autism/ Asperger Syndromes: A Guide for Parents and Non-Medical Professionals, by Luke Tsai, MD. This book may answer some of the questions you have about medications.
