Just Around The Corner...

The Whole Pie How easy it is to miss the point of living. It is too easy to become an algebra pie with [one slice for each part work, family, school, recreation and] only one slice for God. [But] God is the whole pie! Perhaps Gods presence among us is brighter and more extravagant than we have imagined. Perhaps the very idea of life is to experience and discover God in it. Maybe we are meant to journey not only toward God or even for God, but with God.
Sue Monk Kidd, Gods Joyful Surprise

Kids on Marriage 1. How does a person decide whom to marry? No person really decides before they grow up who theyre going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you got to find out later who youre stuck with. (Kirsten, age 10) 2. How can a stranger tell if two people are married? Married people usually look happy to talk to other people. (Eddie, age 6) You might have to guess based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids. (Derrick, age 8) 3. What do you think your mom and dad have in common? Both dont want no more kids. (Lori, age 8) 4. Is it better to be single or married? Its better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need somebody to clean up after them! (Anita, age 9) Single is better ... for the simple reason that I wouldnt want to change no diapers .... Of course, if I did get married, Id figure something out. Id just phone my mother and have her come over for some coffee and diaper-changing. (Kirsten, age 10) 5. What would you suggest to make a marriage work? Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like a truck! (Ricky, age 7)
