Sean sure had the Midas Touch this week in arguably the most dramatic comeback of the season. Ellington (27) finally broke out with Mundanehall sidelined. Matt Stafford (39.3) led the Lions to a last second victory and in the douchiest play of the week Golden Tate (30) hotdogged the Seahawks and Sean to victory on an 80 Yard catch and run. My Men of the match are Seans IDPs/Team D: Henderson, Quinn, Church and the Saints D combined for 57 points and were the difference in this contest. Jameet got solid numbers from Romo (32), Moreno (26) and Josh Gordon (28) but it wasnt enough to hold off Sean. Jameet is still in 1st place via the Total Points tiebreaker but now 5 teams are within one game of the top spot.

Best Player: For the second week in a row this crown must go to Calvin Johnson. After totaling just 21
points for weeks 4-6 Megatron has now put up 98 points the past two weeks. He made almost every play for the Lions with 14 catches for 329 yards and a TD. That is the 2 nd most receiving yards in NFL History and the most for a 4 quarter game. The record is held by Flipper Anderson who had 336 yards in the LA Rams OT defeat of the Saints in Week 9 of the 1989 season. Eh Eeeeh!!

Most Surprising Performance:

Seeing as two of the prime candidates for this category are not rostered (Marvin Jones (54) and Kenny Stills (33) FAs) Ill award Andre Ellington with this weeks biggest surprise performance. Sean has had unwavering support for the Rook and once Rashard Mundanehall (cant stop saying it) was declared inactive for the game it all came to fruition. Andre proved hes more than just a passing down back carrying the load for the Cards with 15 carries for 154 yards and a TD. Thats a 10.2 YPC folks.

Guttsiest Play of the Week: Ill be the first to admit these categories are a little weak this week
(Nyuck Nyuck) but thats everybody elses fault. That being said even though he lost I must still give props to Wong for starting Ted Gin Gin Gin Gin (15). He saw value where nobody else could. If nothing else its an excuse to do that SFX.

Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda:
Me: This is gonna sound like ridiculous hindsight but before the games started Sunday I did take a few good looks at both Kenny Stills (33) and DeAngelo Hall (21.5). I declined on Stills because Jimmy Graham (22) was declared active and I didnt think Hall had a shot at a pick 6 against Peyton. Boy was I wrong on all accounts. Playing these guys over Jamarca Sanford (2) and Robert Woods (2.5) would have resulted in a 50 point swing for my squad but I still would have lost by about 3 points anyway. WouldaCoulda-Shoulda indeed!!

SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 8 Wrap Up

Rich: Matt Ryan (10.5) finally felt the effects of no Julio Jones or Roddy White this week and by the way Arizona officially has his number. In his 4 career starts against the Cardinals they have now picked him off 11 times. The road does not get much easier either as the Falcons face the Panthers and Seahawks the next two weeks. Dan M: Most FAs > Lance Dunbar (1.5) I saw Dunbar as a sleeper coming into the year based on his impressive preseason and Demarcos Murrays inevitable injury struggles. But he has been leap-frogged by Joseph Randle (6.5) on the depth chart and lets face it Dallas just doesnt have a very good run game. There were better options in free agency this week. Including the player with the best fantasy name EVER Fozzy Whittaker (12.5). Say it with me now Waka Waka!! Gus: I scored less points than you this week so I can hardly criticize. The only thing I must say is theres no reason to roster, let alone start Fumblin Ronnie Hillman. The Broncos actually deactivated him during the week but he was later reactivated for the game. Nonetheless he has been surpassed by rookie Montee Ball (11.5) and he has no business on a fantasy roster at this time. Which begs the question What the Hells going on out here? Grab Grab Grab!!! Rich: Big Win this week and look at that now your only 2 games out of a playoff spot (Much like the Giants and Jets). Speaking of the G-Men it was very disconcerting to see Rueben Randle put up a goose egg against the Eagles. I see that as a one week thing that should be resolved over their current Bye week. Itd be even better for Randle if they traded Hakeem Nicks but of course that did not happen in easily the most boring trade deadline EVER. Another player on your roster who could have seriously benefitted from a trade is Jared Allen. Hes also a big part of Dr Joey Ds prescription: Another trade recommendation here as I think you can get a decent Flex RB or WR for either Wilkerson or Allen to get you through this miserable BYE week. Id be interested in either Hint Hint!! Wong: Russell Wilson (8) and Sidney Rice (0) were shut down by the Rams underrated defense. Rice has always been a borderline starter but after his concussion this week and the return of Percy Harvin looming hes going to be an even tougher start from here on out. I also need to say no player in the NFL deserves a trade more than Toby Gerhart (12.5). This guy is a Beast and just plain should be on a different team. Hes wasting his skills and youth on a terrible team behind the biggest workhorse RB in the league. The Vikings have nothing to gain from having him on their roster. Minnesota should have taken a page out of Moses book and Let my Toby GoooOOoo!! Voege: I think most of us can agree theres nothing better than seeing Tom Brady (5.8) play like shyt. The problem is bonehead teams like the Dolphins always find ways to lose these games. Uggh!! Brady has some tough matchups coming up including Pitt, Car, Den and Hou. Those are 4 pretty good defenses. Is it Dalton time for Voege? Not yet but I am forecasting him to be Bradys replacement for NEs week 10 bye. My advice is to get that backup now before he gets scooped up. Kinan: Better rush to get Nick Foles back as Vick (-2.5) looks like hes done. BTW how many times were Eagles QBs sacked this week? Not 1, Not 2, Not 3 thats right 4. It should also be pointed out that as bad Vick played this week getting Mojo (17.5) into your lineup would have gotten you a victory.

SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 8 Wrap Up

Nick W: Emmanuel Sanders (26.5) > Rashard Mundanehall (DNP) Dont know what the hell happened here. I woulda played Sanders over Mundanehall regardless of his status. The Steelers offense is playing a lot better than earlier in the season and Sanders has been a beneficiary. I know he had a subpar effort last week (3) but I think he puts up 10+ more often than not and for that reason youre the subject of Joes obvious statement of the week: Dont play players who arent going to play!!

Closing Comments:
Everyone should thank Sean for beating Jameet. He essentially helped the entire league this week. We now have Jameet and Sean in first and second at 6-2. Then Rich, Me, Dan and Frank filling out the playoff spots at 5-3. Wong is still just one game back at 4-4. Also on the outside looking in are Rich, Voege and Weber at 3-5. Finally, Kinan and Gus are still clinging to hope at 2-6 and 1-5 respectively. So things are still very tight and theres plenty of room for movement all around. Now for some dirt on this weeks match-ups. Jameet will once again be put to the test this week as he faces Dan's Dangerous Squad. Itll be interesting to see who out-manages who as both teams rely heavily on the Bye Week Broncos. Another two teams who will be tormented by the Week 9 Bye are Wong and Weber. The teams combine for 12 potential starters on Bye including Webers only QB (Kaepernick) and Wong's top RB (Gore) both on San Fran. Finally, the first ever Embarrassment of Richs Bowl as Medlock plays Carter. Medlock has injuries to James Jones and Stevie Johnson to deal with but seems to have a lot of other options available. Carter on the other hand will need Bye week replacements for both Wes Welker and Vernon Davis. Good luck to all as we kick off the second half of the Fantasy season. Thats how we wrap it up feel free to post any comments, ideas for categories or trophies on the league page or facebook group. And now without further ado here are my Week 9 Predictions: Week 8 Results: 3-2 OVR: 22-18 Another positive week Baby!!
