Initially recruited to build and lead the new R&D center in India. Spearheaded India operations and sales functions, built sales and support teams, navigated local customs and bureaucracy, increased brand awareness, identified and captured business opportunities in surrounding countries, and advised board of directors to create a Professional Services department to support local customer needs. Built team from three to 140 in eight months. Achieved revenue recognition goals every quarter providing valuable cash flow to US Accounts department. Recruited to design the power supplies and magnetics components for AT&T and OEMs as the initial project for Hewlett Packard's first desktop printer. Delivered HPs power supply and had it certified in 14 countries, opened factories in Thailand, Singapore, a nd Mexico putting manufacturing best practices in place, solidified strategic partnership between HP and AT&T, and continued to engineer HP solutions while managing QA and development functions. Developed HP account from initial contract to $50M annual revenue stream and introduced JIT supply model saving $10M over two years (earning two awards from HP). Increased AT&T Microelectronics division profit 300% and eliminated competition by sourcing quality low-cost materials from APAC and launching factories in Thailand, Singapore, and Mexico; resulted in AT&T/HP strategic partnership and $500M+ business Unit (sold to Tyco). Earned multiple merit awards from AT&T Consumer Products division for troubleshooting and resolving a recurring $1M safety problem (saving AT&T from a costly consumer court battle).
