The initial establishing shot from a birds eye perspective shows the village isolated on a hill. Suggests a community. As it finally grows weary, we gain the image of stillness and calm and we can see that they are finally able to settle down in this new place.

The kangaroo Bundoof (spelling?) is an imaginary friend, symbolic of how the lack of connection results in only an imaginary one. As it hops away, we understand that she finally has a sense of belonging so no longer needs the imaginary friend.
