TLIF2010A APPLY FATIGUE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES OUTLINE


This course provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to apply fatigue management strategies, including identifying and acting upon signs of fatigue and implementing appropriate strategies to minimise fatigue during work activities, in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. FATIGUE MANAGEMENT - LEVEL 1 COURSE OVERVIEW The focus of this course is on: Explaining the importance of fatigue management; Identifying legislation that supports the management of fatigue; Describing the causes, effects and warning signs of fatigue; Following workplace procedures and practices to manage fatigue; and Selecting appropriate lifestyle choices to manage fatigue.

ASSESSMENT OUTLINE
After completing the online course, there are several assessment tasks to complete, including a: Case Study Assessment: Presents several short case studies and asks a series of supporting questions to demonstrate how you apply your understanding of fatigue management to realistic scenarios. Short Answer Assessment: A series of online questions that require a short, typed response to demonstrate your understanding of fatigue management related to your workplace and job role. Practical Assessment: You will be asked to submit several example documents depending on whether you are a driver, operator, scheduler or supervisor. This will allow you to demonstrate how you are using specific tools in the workplace. If you are a driver, you will need to submit copies of 5 separate days of your driver work diary. If you are an operator, you will need to submit a copy of your Personal Work Commitment Plan which you can download at the end of the course. If you are a scheduler, you will need to submit 3 different driver rosters or safe driving plans that you have created, ensuring it is clearly marked whether the driver is operating under standard, BFM or AFM hours. If you are a supervisor, you will need to submit 2 separate days of a driver work diary for a driver that you supervise and 2 separate driver rosters or safe driving plans for a scheduler that you supervise. As a supervisor, you must check these documents before you submit them and if you see any fatigue management issues, they must be corrected first.
