Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Internship Program

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is the home of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, NDP Lacrosse, Pepsi Center, Dicks Sporting Goods Park, Paramount Theatre, and 1STBANK Center. At KSE we strive to provide internships that are rewarding, both academically and professionally. The KSE Internship Program consists of internship opportunities throughout the organization. These are unpaid positions that require the applicant to be a college student who will receive academic credit for the experience and be covered by their universitys workers compensation and general liability policy. The following internships may be available for the spring semester (January May). Full descriptions can be found at www.pepsicenter.com/intern. The time commitment for these positions is generally 15-20 hours per week. To apply for the KSE Internship Program, please send your cover letter and one-page resume to internships@pepsicenter.com. All applications for spring internships must be received by November 18, 2013. If there are specific internships that interest you, please mention them in your cover letter and the subject line of your e-mail. **If you are applying for the Public Relations internship, please include three writing samples in addition to your cover letter and resume for review. Students selected for an interview will be contacted by a hiring manager within one month after the deadline. Please contact internships@pepsicenter.com for additional information.

The following are brief descriptions of KSE internships that may be available this fall. The duties are tentative and can change depending on business needs. If there are specific internships that interest you, please mention them in your cover letter and the subject line of your e-mail. The Athletic Training internship with the Colorado Rapids teaches students about training in a professional sports environment. Candidates should be First Aid and CPR certified, studying Athletic Training/Sports Medicine or a related field in college, and have previous athletic training experience. The Communications/Media Relations internship will give students the chance to work in the communications department of one of our teams. Duties may include organizing news clips, research, supporting the team operations staff, game day media setup, and assisting with press box operations. Interns must be available to work all home games. For the Colorado Avalanche internship, the intern must be available to work during business hours on Mon/Weds/Fri or Tues/Thurs. For the Colorado Rapids internship, the ability to speak and write in Spanish is a plus. The Community Relations and Fan Development internship will teach students about community affairs, fundraising, special events, and other charitable initiatives of KSE. The intern will also work on various KSEs youth initiatives and team community events. An ideal intern should have strong communication/interpersonal skills, enjoy working with children, and a desire to help the community. Must be available to work business hours, nights, and weekends. The Corporate Sponsorship/Partnership Marketing & Media Sales internship will allow students to witness the day-to-day account management, marketing development, and partnership relations with our major sponsors of our teams and venues. The intern will participate in research, promotion development and execution, special events, presentations, and sales recaps. The Event Management internship will teach students what goes into putting on an event at Pepsi Center or Dicks Sporting Goods Park. The intern may be involved in event planning, setup, facility surveys and research, game-day productions, event management, and special projects. The Guest Relations internship teaches students about the planning, execution, and implementation of guest services at Pepsi Center and Dicks Sporting Goods Park. Interns will participate in day-to-day operations of the Guest Relations department, assist with various departmental game and event night responsibilities and initiatives, and learn how to effectively manage and train guest services staff. The ideal intern should have strong communication skills, possess a desire to learn about conflict resolution and event management, and be available some nights and weekends. The Lacrosse Operations internship shows students the daily operations of the Colorado Mammoth and NDP Lacrosse, a national tournament company. Responsibilities may include office and team operations, tournament preparation and execution, database management, and cold calling. Strong computer skills are preferred. Must be available to work some nights and weekends. The Merchandise Operations internship with KSE Imprints provides students an opportunity to gain experience in the merchandise and apparel industry. The student

will learn the day-to-day operations of KSE Imprints the various stages of the creation, distribution, and sales of merchandise including the apparel sold in Altitude Authentics stores at Pepsi Center and Dicks Sporting Goods Park. Projects will focus on production/operations, marketing and promotions, and sales. The Public Relations internship with NDP Lacrosse will teach students about PR and lacrosse tournament operations. The intern will be involved in writing press releases, creating and developing website content, database management, cold calling, manual labor, and office operations. Must be available to work some nights and weekends. *Please include three writing samples with cover letter and resume. The Risk Management & Safety internship educates students on how to effectively manage risk at a major sports and entertainment venue, and how to implement various programs supporting the companys commitment to safety. The intern will be responsible for assisting with investigations, events, policies, and procedures, and will research safety and risk management topics. The Soccer Operations internship will teach students about the daily operations of the Colorado Rapids or the Rapids Youth Academy. One intern will work closely with Director of Operations to assist with all aspects of operating a professional soccer club. Other interns will focus on the Academy, working with camps, youth soccer games, and trainings. Previous soccer experience is a plus. The Team Marketing Internship provides an opportunity for a student to learn and assist with various marketing and promotion initiatives for the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth as well as the Colorado Rapids. This internship position will specifically focus on the topic of ticket sales, branding, and related events. Additionally, the intern may assist with social media marketing. The Ticket Operations internship with the Colorado Rapids will give students experience with all aspects of Ticket Sales, including box office operations, sales reports, group events, season ticket holder services, and stadium tours.
