Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check the DSLAM Status:Is it reachable or not? 2. Check the Status of 'Link' & 'Active' LEDs on CXU Card. 3. Check the Status of IUADSL Card-'Power' & 'Run' LED. 4. Check the s/w version of CXU & IU card. 5. Check the Running Config., weather the sufficient VLANs have been passed or not in the DSLAM Config. 6. Check from HCL NOC Team, weather the sufficient VLANs have been passed or not in BNG Config. 7. Check weather the PVIDs exists or not? 8. Check weather the bridgeports have been passed in the dhcp-pppoe config. or not? 9. Check weather the connector cable from IU Card to MDF is properly punched or not? 10.Check weather the DSLAM is learning the MAC of ADSL port or not? If Yes - then forward the case to HCL NOC to check weather the same MAC is learning on RPR & BNG or not. If No - then try to change the port or steps mentioned above. 11. Check weather the 678 error is coming on all ADSL ports or from some ports only? If from All Ports - Ask Site engr to check the browsing on electrical port of DSLAM. If Yes: then check the DSLAM Config. & steps mentioned above. If No: Forward the case to HCL NOC for further troubleshooting. Note : Configure the Electrical port for browsing. Authentication Error: 1. Check the correct User Name & Passward. 2. Check with BSNL Test User Name & Passward. 3. Forward the case to HCL NOC for further troubleshooting. DNS Error:

2. Forward the case to HCL NOC for further troubleshooting. Phone Line Busy: 1. Check the s/w version of CXU & IU card. 2. Check after making port on Roaming (remove Port Binding) 3. Check after changing the splitter module on MDF. 4. Check weather the DSLAM is learning the MAC of ADSL port or not? If Yes - then forward the case to HCL NOC to check weather the same MAC is learning on RPR & BNG or not. If NO - then check after changing ADSL port. 5. Forward the case to HCL NOC for further troubleshooting.

1. This Error causes due to Incompatibility of Windows-Vista with the Type-1 CPEs. So, check after running the Windows Vista patch on the same machine to make OS compatible working with CPEs.
