Influence of famous poets on Hindi poetry: Mirza Ghalib

Ghalib is a celebrated poet who has contributed lots of verses in both Urdu and Persian. Belonging to the Mughal Empire during British colonial rule, he went by his pen names of Ghalib and Asad while his actual name was Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan. The meaning of the name Ghalib is all conquering, superior, most excellent and this he adopted by himself. Ghalib has composed several ghazals over his lifetime that has greatly influenced Hindi poetry. His works primarily revolved around passion, love and sorrow. Today most of his ghazals are existent in various interpretations. These ghazals are being sung in numerous ways by composers, singers and musicians all over the globe. From the tender age of 11 Mirza Ghalib has been composing poems in Urdu, Persian and Arabic. He could also speak in Turkish. He made several poetic compositions that are acclaimed, especially his verses written in Persian. Yet Ghalibs Urdu ghazals are his most famous works till date. Ghalib articulated philosophical view points as well as the struggles and anonymities of life in his poems. Before Ghalib, ghazals were used as a medium to express anguished love. But he brought in a transformation through his compositions. He wrote ghazals on other subjects that were different from the general format making rounds. Influence of Ghalib on Hindi and Urdu Apart from Mirza Ghalibs poetic works, his proses are also quite popular. He had a knack for writing which is why he could pen down a pile of letters in Urdu. His letters gave a footing to the Urdu that is popular today. Unlike the prevalent ornamental writing style, Ghalibs writing skills depicted informal conversation with the reader. All his letters have been translated into English by several famed writers and interpreters. He saw a turbulent period during his stay in Delhi and has composed several poems, ghazals and letters that depicted the tough time that feudal elite were going through.

Ghalib was a very liberal mystic and he believed that the search for God within liberated the seeker from the narrowly Orthodox Islam, encouraging the devotee to look beyond the letter of the law to its narrow essence. muft haath aa.e to buraa kyaa hai Mirza Ghalib was the last great poet of the Mughal era. He has had a deep influence on the hearts and minds of Hindi shayari lovers since his time. His honorific was Dabir-ul-Mulk. He also received the title of 'Mirza Nosha' from a Mughal emperor, which made Mirza his first name. He has written several ghazals and shayaris during his life, which have since been inferred and hummed in various forms in both Hindi and Urdu.
