Adverbs - Halloween
Directions: Underline the adverb in each sentence. An adverb is used to describe how, where, when, how often and why something happens. It describes verbs, other adverbs, adjectives, and phrases.

Describing a Verb: The cat climbed quickly up the tree. (quickly describes the verb - climbed) Describing a Adverb: Mike worked very carefully on his paper. (very describes the adverb - carefully) Describing a Adjective: She is nearly ready to go. (nearly tells to what extent she is ready)
