Oh you who believe! Fear Allah as He has the right to be feared, and
do not die except as Muslims.

(O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him, and speak
(always) the truth 70 ز. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds
and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His
Messenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he
will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise). [al-
Ahzaab 33:70].” (Sunan al-Nisaa’i: Kitaab al-Jumu’ah, Baab kayfiyyah
al-khutbah).

O you who believe! Fear Allâh and keep your duty to Him. And let every
person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allâh.
Verily, Allâh is All-Aware of what you do[]. (18) And be not like those
who forgot Allâh (i.e. became disobedient to Allâh) and He caused
them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous
deeds). Those are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). (19)
Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise.
It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful.

But first lets look at the encouragement that Allah gives us in the
Quran to be of those who use our minds, to be of those who reflect, of
those who ponder.
30:8 Do they not think deeply about themselves? Allah has created not
the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, except with
truth and for an appointed term. And indeed many of mankind deny
the Meeting with their Lord.

3:190 Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the
alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of
understanding,-
3:191 Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and
lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation
in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for
naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation
from the penalty of the Fire.

These and other similar ayaat tell us my brothers and sisters that the
heavens and earth were created for a noble purpose, and not for jest.
These and other similar ayaat also are challenging us to look in the
creation of the heavens and in the earth for Allah’s signs, for Allah’s
proofs. So now lets look at a couple of examples of how the Qurran is
relevant in this age of science and technology.
Lets us start with a proof in our own bodies. Look at your fingertips
and look at the imprint on them. The Science of today tells us that no
two human being has the same fingernail. This fact was discovered
first by Sir Francis Galton in 1880.
Now what does the quran say about fingerprints. Does the Quran say
the fingerprints of no two human are the same?

Allah Tala answered these doubts by saying that not only will He
assemble our bones, but also reconstruct us perfectly, down to our
very fingertips. Allah says (75 3-4):
Now lets turn our attention to skies. One question that we could raise
is does clouds have weight. Many people think that clouds are
weightless, that they are just fluff.

Science tells us that clouds do have weight, and the density of the
cloud determines the weight. Density is weight per unit volume.
Science tells that a typical cumulonimbus cloud or thundercloud can
contain up to 300,000 tons of water. That’s equivalent to the weight of
150,000 – 2000 lbs cars.
Amazingly the book of Allah tells us that clouds have weight. In Surat
Raad ayah 12:

Perish the two hands of Abû Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and
perish he![] (1) His wealth and his children will not benefit him! (2) He
will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! (3) And his wife too, who
carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the
Prophet (SAW) , or use to slander him)[]. (4) In her neck is a twisted
rope of Masad (palm fibre).[] (5)
Also, concerning Abu Lahab, a fiery opponent of Islam, the Quran foretold he
will die opposing the religion of God:
“May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and [indeed] he has
perished. His wealth and gains will not profit him. He will be
plunged in flaming Fire.” (Quran 111:1-3)
Specifically, three prophecies were made about Abu Lahab:
(i) The conspiracies of Abu Lahab against the Prophet would not succeed.
(ii) His wealth and children would not benefit him.
(iii) He would die opposing God’s religion and enter the Fire.
Abu Lahab also died in a state of disbelief as prophesized by the Quran. Had
Waleed or Abu Lahab accepted Islam even outwardly, they would have disproved
its prophecies and thus its heavenly source!
In addition, Abu Lahab had four sons, two of whom died at a young age during
his lifetime. The other two sons and a daughter embraced Islam and frustrated his
hopes! Finally, he died of a plague; people would not touch his body out of fear of
contamination and dumped mud and stones on him where he died to make it his
grave.
Waleed bin Mugheera was a staunch enemy who openly ridiculed the Quran:

6:50 Say (Oh Muhammad): "I do not tell you that with me are
the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I tell
you that I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me."
Say: "Are the blind and the one who sees equal.(Meaning is the
one who is guided, following the truth, equal to the one
misled')" Will you then not think?

And as for the doubters of the Quran, Allah gives them a challenge
when he says:

192. Our Lord, indeed whom You admit to the Fire, then surely You have disgraced
him,
and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.
193. Our Lord, indeed we heard a caller calling to faith (saying), 'Believe in your Lord,' so we have believed.
Our Lord, so forgive for us our sins and remove for us our evil deeds, and cause us to die with the righteous.
194. Our Lord grant us what You promised us through Your Messengers and do notdisgrace us on the Day of
Resurrection. Indeed, You never break (Your) promise.”
195. Then their Lord responded to them, “Indeed, I will not let go waste the deeds of the doer among you,
whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes
and were
harmed in My way and fought and were killed - surely I will remove from them their evil deeds, and surely I will
admit them to Gardens beneath which rivers flow as a reward from Allah. And with Allah is the best reward.”

3:196 Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through the land deceive thee:
3:197 Little is it for enjoyment: Their ultimate abode is Hell: what an evil bed (To lie
on)!
3:198 On the other hand, for those who fear their Lord, are Gardens, with rivers
flowing beneath; therein are they to dwell (for ever),- a gift from the presence of
Allah. and that which is in the presence of Allah is the best (bliss) for the righteous.
3:199 And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in
Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to
Allah. They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward
with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account.
