Molana Jalal-uddin Mohammad Rumi, 1207-1273 Selected and Translated From Masnavi by Dr. Majid M. Naini

Whatever I say about love, When love comes I am ashamed of my explanation. Even though the explanation of the tongue sheds some light, Love without explanation is much clearer.

When it came to love, My pen that was hurrying in writing, broke from its glory. In explaining love, intellect was caught like a donkey in the mud, Only love could explain the story of love and the lovers. Being in love is apparent from the hearts cry, There is no illness like the illness of the heart.
