S YEAR/SEM: I/I MAX.MARKS: 50 DATE: 03.10.2013 TIME: 90 MINUTES (Answer all the questions) 1. The focus of a conic is 50mm from the directrix. Draw the locus of a point p moving in such a way that its distance is equal to its distance from the focus. Name the curve. Draw a tangent to the curve at a point 60mm from the directrix. A circle of 40mm diameter rolls over a horizontal table without slipping. A point on the circumference of the circle is in contact with the table surface in the beginning and after one complete revolution. Draw the path traced by the point. Draw a tangent and normal at any point on the curve. A point C is on HB and 30mm behind VP .Another point D is also on HP and 40mm in front of VP. The distance between their projectors is 50mm. Join their top views and determine the inclination of this line with XY line. Mention the position of the following points with respect to the planes of projections. All dimensions are marked in mm 1. Point A is 20mm above HP and 30mm behind VP. 2. Point B is 25mm below HP and 25mm in front of VP. 3. Point C is 25mm below HP and 30mm behind VP. 4. Point D is 30mm below HP and in the VP. 5. Point E is 40mm above HP and 40 mm behind VP.
