CANYON VIEWS A+ SCHOOL DRIVEN BY CHILDRENS NEEDS

Dear Canyon View Families, Parent-teacher conferences are coming up next week. We will be on a half-day schedule from Monday, October 14th through Wednesday, October 16th. Kindergarten Plus through 5th grade will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. while regular Kindergarten will be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will not be served during these three days. There will be no school on October 17-18 due to Fall Break. Our teachers view conference week as an important time of the year to help strengthen the home-school partnership that is needed to support our students academic, social and emotional needs. These conferences are designed to promote conversations between school and home in order to optimize each students educational experience. We are looking forward to having you on campus to discuss your childs progress. Today, our school practiced one of our scheduled lockdown drills. Ensuring a safe learning environment is our top priority, and these drills are intended to help prepare our staff and students in the event of an emergency situation. As with all of our emergency drills, we will collect and analyze procedural information, and we will use this important information to make necessary changes to our Emergency Response Plan. On Wednesday, October 16th, we will be having our first Spirit Assembly in the MPR at 8:15 a.m. These school-wide assemblies are a fun and rewarding experience for our students. The entire Canyon View staff understands the importance of recognizing and celebrating our students achievements, and our Spirit Assemblies are the perfect venue to do so. During these assemblies, various student groups will also be conducting Character Counts presentations that focus on the Six Pillars Of Character. We would love to see as many of our parents there as possible, so if you can make it, we promise it will be worth your time! Have a wonderful and safe Fall Break! Sincerely, Rob Henikman Principal
