Course Description
Title of Course: Devices and Circuit Simulation Lab Course Credits: 1 Course Code: 10B17EC471 L-T-P: 0-0-2

Prerequisite: Electrical Circuits, Electronic Devices and Circuits Objective: This course introduces the use of SPICE, a Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis for the students of 4th Semester of Electronics and Communication. The course is designed in such a way so that the students can learn how to use ORCAD tools to simulate electrical and electronic circuits. How to write Pspice code to simulate electrical and electronic circuits.. In this laboratory students can visualize the things which are happening inside the circuit without going to the physical laboratory and can get better feeling of fundamentals. This laboratory is also very useful for projects and design problems. Course Description: Being a lab course, all the students who are doing this course have to perform 10 experiments based on passive elements, Diode, Zener diode, BJT, MOSFET, Opamp etc. First few experiments are designed to learn the basics of P-spice(description of passive element, active source ,AC, DC ,Transient analysis) and after these few experiments are designed in such a way so that student can simulate electronics circuit having semiconductor devices like BJT, DIODE OP-amp and MOSFET. It is planned to introduce some digital electronics based experiments In future.

Course Methodology: Students have to attend the Lab as per time table. They will be given 2 Hrs to perform one experiments in every lab slot. The students are expected to simulate the circuits, analyze the circuit and find out some parametric values as per as problem. Students performance will be evaluated during every lab slot. Evaluation Scheme: Attendance: Lab Performance: Record: Mid-sem Lab Test: End-sem Lab Test: Total: Tools: PSPICE Course Cordinator: VIPIN BALYAN Associated Faculty: JITENDRA MOHAN, PRAGYA GUPTA
