Ka Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai 600 032 Dear Sir, Sub: Electricity HV & MV installation at our Ashok Leyland Limited, Technical Centre, Vellivoyalchavadi, Phase-III, Chennai 600 103 - HV & MV additions And alterations - Submission of drawings - Request for scrutiny report Reg Ref: Letter no: ----We propose to put up a new Engine Test Bed facility at our above existing unit. In this connection we have proposed to install 2 Nos. 3150KVA, 11KV/433V Transformers with OLTC . In this connection we explain the reason for selection of 3150KVA Transformer as below. The Engine Test Bed building consists of 24 Nos of Vehicle Engine testing facilities. For your kind information, initially it was planned for 12 Nos of Engine testing facilities at the later stage management wanted to go with 24 Nos. Vehicle Engine testing facilities. To meet the actual load of 24 No engine test bed we have considered for 2 Nos, 3150KVA transformer. Due to space constrain in that substation to have more number of transformers. also we would like to go with phase manner of expansion, 12 Nos. engine test bed at first Phase, 1 No. of 3150KVA suits to meet the Phase-1 demand, similarly for the next phase of another 12 Nos. bed, the 2 nd 3150KVA distribution transformer suits to meet the demand with out any major modification in the panels and distribution and hence we have planned for 3150KVA transformer. Overall load requirement of 12 no engine test bed is 2500KVA only, in the 3150 KVA transformer only 80 % of over all loading factor we considered, at any time the transformer will not loaded beyond 2500 KVA , the Engines are actually required to be tested at constant voltage levels which feed from single panel (12 Nos. Engine test bed) the performance of the engines will be tested at various load (No load, full load etc) condition at simultaneously with out any interruption and also at different atmospheric condition, hence the inrush current of the engines vary in high, So we selected the 3150KVA transformer. We hope that we have clarified our position. In this connection we are forwarding the drawings through M/s.Shanti Enterprises Electricals Pvt. Ltd., to whom we authorize to submit the drawings and correspond with you on our behalf. We are enclosing the original receipted treasury challan No.495, dated 10.10.2011 for Rs.13,750/- towards drawing scrutiny fee We would request you to kindly let us have your drawing scrutiny report at the earliest
