1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE 1.1. To meet international standards in health care services 1.2. To fulfill HAAD ethical commitment to patients and the community 1.3. To respect patients personal values and beliefs 2. POLICY STATEMENT 2.1. GDCH is committed to respect patients personal values and beliefs to achieve high quality service. 3. PROCEDURE 3.1. All GDCH staff shall take the necessary action to respect patients personal Values and Beliefs throughout the treatment course. 3.2. Nurse shall ask the patient if he/she has any special requirements related to his personal values and beliefs as a part of initial assessment process. This data will be recorded in the assessment form then attached to the patients file. 3.3. Nurse shall convey the information to concerned department regarding any matter related to patients Values and Beliefs as needed (Kitchen & Meals, Dressing, Religious & Spiritual Mattersetc) 3.4. Concerned Department shall respond to all matters related to patients personal beliefs, values and religious needs as long as it does not interfere with other patients safety and welfare and not contradicting with either HAAD rules & regulations and the local laws. 3.5. Medical Record receptionist must assure that the patient has received a copy of the Bill of Rights.
