Created by Kevin "Pills" Montano, and his cousin Jason "DJ Threat" Campbell in 2006,
The Latin Mixx is designed to recognize Latino DJs for all of their accomplishments and
contributions to the music industry and features the five elements of Latin Urban culture:
music, art, fashion, media & entrepreneurship.
The Latin Mixx kicks off Tuesday, July 21 at 8:00 p.m. at an artist and DJ showcase
presented by BMI at S.O.B.’s located at 204 Varick Street at West Houston, New York.
The rest of the conference will take place, July 22 – 23, 2009 at:
Performances include Juganot, T-Weaponz, Steelo, Kuko Alamala & Buda and Tali y
Messiah. As well as, all star DJ’s Spin One, Yonny, Fatfingaz, DP1, Supa Dave and
Spictakular.

8:00pm, The Latin Mixx Artist Showcase presented by BMI & Latin Mixx.
Turntablist Showcase hosted by Table Manners Emerging artists will be showcasing their
talents to celebrate the opening night of Latin Mixx. Trick DJs will be showing off their best
turntable skills. World renowned Turntablists include: DJ Supa-Dave, DJ DP1, DJ
Fatfingaz, DJ Yonny, DJ Spin One and DJ Spictakular.
Artist Exhibition – The Times Center Gallery: Featuring up and coming Latino artists who
are successful within the Latin Market and have something very unique to offer attendees.
This year’s feature artists are Paper Monster and Leon Rainbow.
Sneaker Exhibition- The Times Center Hall Lobby: Featuring custom sneaker designers
who have made a name for themselves in the Latin Market, this year’s feature artist is
Nelson Cepeda of Rebel Aire and Erica Purnell of Pink Eye.
Latin Mixx Expo- The Times Center, Hall: Featuring hands on experience of the latest DJ
equipment, as well as a unique opportunity for vendors to showcase their brands to
attendees. DJ Equipment vendor set up courtesy of Musically Yours featuring Pioneer,
American DJ, QFC Audio and many more.
Latin Mixx Conference Performance Stage - The Times Center, Hall: Featuring emerging
recording artists, who are looking to gain maximum exposure to DJs, and the Latin Market
influencers.
12pm – 12:45pm, The Kvan Group presents “Los Sonidos De New York”
The panel will feature the transition of Mexican music into mainstream America and the
Latin Market. Panel topic will include the art of Cumbia, as well as Bailes, light shows,
sound manipulation and the cultural connection to traditional Mexican music.
Panelists include:
This panel will be discussing how DJ's have evolved from club DJ's to Producer, On-Air
personality, Artist, promoter and marketers. Their different income stream as
entrepreneurs and producers/composer/re-mixers, as well as the pros and cons the digital
revolution.

2pm – 2:45pm - Music Industry Online presents “Connecting Brands with Artists & DJs”
This panel discussion will highlight, what is in the partnerships for the brands, the artists,
DJs and most importantly the fans! Artists & DJs benefit from income to help them create,
while brands like McDonald's, Hennessy and Toyota benefit from exposure to consumers
through tours, music videos, events and artist product placement. If you’re an emerging
artist or DJ seeking sponsorship opportunities or an endorsement deal this panel is a
must!

3:00pm – 3:45pm, Creative Media Group presents “Latin Mixx All Star DJ Panel”
This panel will be discussing the art of breaking hit records, pushing new artists and the
Internet radio game. Seasoned DJs will be giving their expert advice, opinions and offering
information for the up and coming artist, DJ and anyone trying to make it in the industry.
Panelists include:
An exclusive and intimate question and answer session with a Latin music superstar, yet
to be announced.
Featuring an exclusive fashion show. This very chic, invitation only event offers a more
relaxed and intimate opportunity for the most important attendees, sponsors and
influencers to network. Special performance by Sito Rocks and an exclusive Biejo-75
Brazil Street Remix.

The most anticipated highlight of the Latin Mixx Conference. The winners of The Latin
Mixx Awards will be announced and recognized. The winners are selected from 13
different categories of the best Latino DJs in the US. Winners were determined after 3
months of votes from their peers and fans.
