and reliable design and technologies. With over 20 years of experience VetterTec disc dryers operate in the starch industries, chemical indus- tries, and environmental industries in various applications. VetterTec disc dryers work as indirect heated contact dryers. To heat the contact surface, typi- cally steam is used inside the rotor. The product gets in contact with the hot surface outside the rotor, and evaporation of the water takes place. Advantages Little space requirements Compact and robust design Low steam consumption Adequately positioned inspection doors for easy access Sophisticated level control system Shafts made of special forged steel Optimized steam distribution and condensate discharge system Special rotor design to minimize wear and erosion and optimize efficiency Special Features Indirectly heated, no contact between product and heating media Outdoor and indoor installation ATEX design Vapour and product contact parts of stainless steel Rotor of mild steel, stainless steel if required Dust filter Low oxygen drying VetterTec successful drying systems www.vettertec.de V e t t e r T e c D is c D r y e r s Techn. In other words, the water is evaporated by contacting the surface of the discs. The disc rotor slowly rotates in a fixed housing. Shovels mounted on the rotor convey the product from the front end to the back end of the dryer. Product which slightly sticks on the surface of the disc is scraped off with special scrapers. The evaporated water leaves the dryer through the vapour hood in an optimized design to avoid vapour back flush. Typically a filter is placed directly in the vapour hood to remove most of the fines to meet emission requirements. In order to achieve a constant load in the dryer, which is necessary for op- timal evaporation, a frequency controlled discharging screw is installed at the dryer outlet. A special control system is an inte- gral feature of the system. This design com- bined with the drying principle allows to dry even pasty and adhesive products.
