Dear Mr Winter FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 SUBJECT: Performing Rights Society I refer to your email dated 9th September 2013 regarding the above which has been handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). QUESTION Between 1 April 2012 and 1 April 2013, how much did Lothian and Borders Police pay to the Performing Right Society (PRS) for permission for police officers to listen to music at work, and how much has Police Scotland paid to the PRS from 2 April 2013 to the present?

RESPONSE Lothian and Borders Police paid a total of 17,275.33 to the Performing Rights Society during 2012/13. Please note, that whilst a proportion of the payment would have been to allow officers to listen to music whilst participating physical exercise routines linked to training, the majority will relate to the fact
