For the Green Belt, do I need to have a project from my organization to work on?
No, for the public Green Belt Certification program the project will be a simulation. Real data will be given and each participant must work through the entire DMAIC methodology using the tools to demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge. Theprojectmustbecompletedoutsideoftheclassroomsessions. Each participant will have two hours of coaching from the facilitator outside of the classroom sessions if needed.
How do the classroom training sessions and project simulation flow together? Why would it take three months?
Below is an example of the certification program including classroom training and time required for the project. Week One: Example: May 16th week Week Two Four Example: May 23-June 10 Training I: 4 Days of Classroom training Project Work I: Independent work on first part of the project (coaching if needed*) Training II: 4 Days of Classroom training and exam Note: Exam scores provided same day, retakes if needed will be discussed individually. A $20 fee will be applied for any exam retake. Project Work II Independently complete the second part of the project (coaching if needed*) Project Due. Projects can be turned in earlier, but no projects will be accepted after the predefined date. Certification notices will go out as projects are completed and graded.
*the maximum coaching time is two hours per participant. Optional and additional group coaching may be available if multiple participants need help with the same question. This will be determined by the instructor.
