Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Class C drivers license is require, proof of lia bility insurance and an acceptable driving record is required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an Animal Control Officer Basic Certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services is required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, Euthanasia Certification, is preferred.
Essential functions include, but not limited, to: 1. Patrol City streets and parks; search for stray dogs, other domestic and wild animals; impound sick, injured, stray or trapped domestic and non-domestic animals. 2. Enforce State, City and local animal control laws, codes and ordinances; explain ordinances to citizens; issue citations for violations of animal control ordinances. 3. Respond to public inquiries regarding animals and provide information within area of assignment; assist in resolving complaints in an efficient and timely manner. 4. Investigate animal bite cases and other reported injuries; prepare reports and issue quarantine notices. 5. Check animals for rabies vaccinations; prepare rabies specimens for shipment to laboratory; receive test results and notify animal owner. 6. Provide public education regarding animal control ordinances and responsible pet ownership duties. 7. Prepare and maintain a variety of files, records and reports following established procedures; answer telephone and relay messages to appropriate personnel. 8. Operate and maintain the animal control vehicle and various animal control devices and equipment. 9. Coordinate with other agencies as needed; prepare monthly and annual statistical reports. 10. Receive and respond to emergency calls as assigned; dispatch calls to field personnel as needed. 11. Euthanasia as needed.

Environmental Conditions: Office and field environment; exposure to a variety of domestic and wild animals; inclement weather conditions. Physical Conditions: Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing for prolonged periods of time; ability to lift weight 75 pounds or more; operating motorized equipment and vehicles; and ability to walk for prolonged periods of time.

Participation in the development and implementation of procedures to support security strategies and policies. Perform information security risk assessments and document remediation efforts for new and existing IT assets. Responsible for ensuring security and access controls are implemented via firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention appliances and authentication mechanisms through audits, penetration and vulnerability testing of applications, servers, network and security appliances and other infrastructure devices. Responsible for incident response management and forensic investigations of possible or proven security breaches or incidents Create and maintain incident response procedures. Assist in conducting security awareness activities such as presentations, training development and other awareness methods. Coordinate, perform and track vulnerability and penetration testing. Evaluate potential information security tools; use tools to scan internal systems for security updates, etc. Monitor and review log information from various networks/systems. Assist with regular reviews of network/system access credentials including privilege levels. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS:


Applied knowledge in information security and regulatory compliance standards and requirements Past operational experience with data networks and systems related to Microsoft Windows environment desirable Previous participation in a Vulnerability Management program Experience in performing firewall and other information system audits Familiarity with automated information security technologies as well as manual log review and event correlation Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or SANS Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) a plus

This position is required to work 24/7 on-call rotation. Possession of a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record is required. An extensive background check is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

Coaches existing and new Green Belt Project Teams and Kaizen Teams. Mentors multiple project teams simultaneously. Collaborates with team leads to develop methodology for collection and analysis of data for determining a project improvement strategy. Participates in project phase reviews and documents project status. May lead projects, as necessary, to successful completion. Educates, coaches and mentors existing and new Green Belts, Yellow Belts and Lean Belts on Lean Six Sigma tools, methodology and application. Provides introductory level training materials to educate all employees on basic concepts. Develops and shares tools and techniques to further the advancement of the Lean Sigma program throughout the organization. Assists in the linkage to strategic plan for the use of Lean Six Sigma, and in the sustaining support of executive and senior management and process owners with identifying, scoping and financially justifying projects that align with business strategy. Drives cultural changes across the organization and supports deployment of the Lean Six Sigma program. Establishment of monitoring systems to ensure sustainability of results and to keep initiatives on track. Aids in the preparation of executive updates summarizing project results. Monitors and analyzes data and trends to identify potential opportunities, needs, issues, and problems that could impact business results. Develops and maintains key metrics and shares results with stakeholders; maintains Lean Six Sigma dashboard. Manages the project prioritization process. Partner and act as a resource to business units in identifying improvement projects. Prioritize the citywide LSS portfolio of projects; review submission from departments; collaborates with project sponsors in the development of project charters. In addition to coaching and supporting new and existing teams, the incumbent must lead and complete at least (2) projects per year. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: DMAIC (Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), DFSS (Design for Six Sigma)/DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify), and Kaizen/Lean principles. Position will also assist with development of city scorecards that link to the strategic plan.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in business or technical discipline plus six years of increasingly responsible experience including three years leading and facilitating Black Belt projects, Green Belt projects and Lean Kaizen events and experience coaching and mentoring multiple certified green and lean belt teams simultaneously. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with Lean experience. Certification from a recognized program. The candidate must be able to present documented results of Black Belt projects, Green Belt projects, Kaizens, and Just Do It projects. Service sector experience preferred but not mandatory. It also requires a high degree of accuracy and detail orientation to validate both your work and the work of others. Applicants will work an average of 32 hours per week including rotating Saturdays. This is a temporary position with no benefits. The ideal Time Entry Tech will have previous experience working in a highly structured payroll data entry environment where reasoning skills were valued, and have a thorough understanding of military time and matrix time shifts.
