SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 1 Wrap Up

Cruzin in My Camero!: R-G3PJOEpisode2AttackofDaJones (231) def BakinOutGiosVan (174.3) The Eagle has Crash Landed: From Worst To First (197) def Team 1,2,3,.5 (158.3) A Fricken Ton of Points: Ahh Phuck (269.3) def The Fricken Hell Yeahs (234) New World Odor: Wubbzy ! (190.8) def Cam Newton World Order (155.5) Seventh Heaven: Kaeptain Crunchtime (213.3) def Baby Gorilla (122.3)

***Game of the Week*** Young GZ 4/4 Sheezy: Gronk If U Luv Big Ol TeeDees (135) def medlock 1585 (134.3) Now thats a way to start the season. I myself have a long history of Week 1 heartbreaks but this ones gotta sting. This was a very low scoring affair all around. Despite the tireless effort he put into his team name Medlock was done in by 3 of his starters combining for 1 point (Jones, Peppers, Bengals D). Sean on the other hand got a majority of his scoring from Matt Stafford (31) and Ray Rice (22.5) but My Man of the Match has to be Greg Zuerlein (14). Young GZ was 4/4 on FGs and hit a 48 yarder with 40 seconds left to give both the Rams and Sean Ws. Fun Fact: My sister and her BF went to STL for that game!!! So Sean you should thank her.

Best Player: This week Peyton Manning (65.8) made my job real easy. His 7 TD passes against the Ravens was just unbelievable. Wait was it Peyton? Cuz apparently someone at The Columbus Dispatch is confused?? Horrible journalism aside, Peyton is the first QB to throw for 7 TDs since Joe Kapp did it for Minnesota against the Baltimore Colts on Sept. 28, 1969. Most Surprising Performance:
Anquan Boldin (45) had probably the most impressive debut for a newly acquired Free Agent EVER!!! His 13 catches for 208 yards and a TD were a huge part of Webers Week 1 victory over Richie. Not to th mention the fact that Weber got him in the 7 round. Thats the definition of a Draft Day steal.

Guttsiest Play of the Week: Week 1 is always the toughest week for this category. People pretty much draft the guys they wanna start and go with it. Not too many tough decisions to be made. That being said I still have to give Weber props for starting Jared Cook (37). Not only does Arizona have a decent Pass Defense but with Sam Bradfords failure to take the next step the past few years and Cooks long history of under-producing this was definitely a risky venture for Weber. Nevertheless the 12th round draft pick led all TEs in scoring this week with 7 catches for 141 yards and 2 TDs.
Honorable Mention: If Im going to pat Webers back I also have to give myself props for drafting Jordan th Cameron (29). His 9/108/1 line was more than I expected from my 11 round pick. Just goes to show you how deep the TE position is this year.

SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 1 Wrap Up

Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda:
Me: Geno-Geno-where-for-art-thou-Geno. I figured the Pro Bowl DT Geno Atkins (0) would at least have a couple tackles for me, but he put up a goose egg. The revamped Bears O-Line did a phenomenal job shutting him out all day. Im not giving up on him yet though as the Bengals next opponent is the depleted Steelers who gave up 5 sacks in Week 1. Voege: Jermichael Finally (19.5) > Chris Givens (4) I pretty much had to pick this here since Voege wouldnt shut up about ALL DAY Sunday UGGHH!!! In the end it didnt matter as I won by 56.7 points but you always want your optimal lineup in. Finley is one of the most inconsistent players in fantas y so when he does good on your bench its just annoying. Kinan: There werent any real bad decisions as far as playing the wrong person but I am very concerned about Kinans roster. Right now he owns 6 Eagles. Vick, DJax and Mcoy are good fantasy players and I wouldnt mind having any one of them but all three is just ridiculous. Its the definition of putting all your eggs in one basket. Voege also wants me to mention that you didnt start a Kicker and he doesnt like that. So there. Jameet: Julius Thomas (34) > Zach Sudfield (1.5) This really could have been a disaster. A 32.5 point swing is always a huge mistake and Im sure you were very nervous while Kinan was on the comeback trail. Luckily the Redskins defense perked up in the second half and you live to fight another day. You are now the first candidate for Joes obvious statement of the Week: Start Julius Thomas vs the Giants next week. YOURE WELCOME! Weber: Credit where credit is due. Your 269.3 points was the most in the league and makes you the current Prop$60 leader. Nice to have an early pick for once huh? Richie: Rueben Randle (18) > Lance Moore (4) God!!! What a rookie mistake. Get this guy outta the league already. Na not really I cant see anyone starting Randle over Moore here. The problem here was just drawing the wrong matchup. Theres not nd much you can do when you put up the 2 most points of the week and you still lose. Thats just terrible luck. Welcome to the League! I look forward to Mucho Unos Downos!! Wong: No mistakes to speak of and Wong is off to another solid start. Figures for you that Decker was the odd man out in Mannings TD Frenzy but it happens. I do think its time to drop Cam Jordan though. I understand JPPs nicked up but there are plenty of FA D-Lineman out there. Frank: Sam Bradford (31.8) > Cam Newton (17.5) God Dammit Frank whats your eFFin problem. Na just kidding . Maybe its because I havent suffered a bitter defeat yet but I really cant get mad at people for their moves this week. Who in their right mind would have called this no one. I do hope you can turn the momentum around early this year. I dont think any of us can handle another 4-8 season from you. At least I understand/like your team name this year. Good Shyt.

SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 1 Wrap Up

Sean: Joique Off Bell (29.5) > David Wilson (-2.5) OR more likely TY Hilton Ya really got Joiqued around this week huh? David Wilsons 2 fumbles were killers. Not only did he lose points but he basically got benched afterward. Very disappointing especially for a guy I felt had Round 2 value coming into the season. At least ya got the W. Theres no doubt TY and DWill will have better days but I doubt Joique will top this performance. He had 2 TDs as Reggie Bushs backup. Thats crazy. Those 2 RBs accounted for 283 yards from scrimmage and 3 TDs. Which begs the question Mikel WHO?? Rich Medlock: Anybody > Lames Jones (0) Last years 14 TD Darling came out flat in Week 1. I wouldnt overreact too much but it is alarming that Jones couldnt even get 1 catch in this game. He will continue to compete for targets with Cobb, Nelson and Finley but I wouldnt give up on him just yet. You do have 2 good plug n play options in FJax and BBrown if things get really dire. But for now I think Im keeping Jimmy Jones in the lineup against the Skins whose defense was suspect against the Eagles Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Mam offensive explosion in Week 1. Dan Medlock: Mar-tellus More Bennet (15) > Kyle WHOdolph I think Martellus Bennet was a great signing for the Bears this year . We all know the Diabetic Jay Cutlers problem has always been accuracy. Hes got a rocket arm but cant always get it exactly where it needs to go. (Lets face it hes no Chad Henne That guy gets it in there.) Last year adding B Marshall gave Cutler the big target he needs to be successful and now the Bears have doubled down on that theory with Bennet. I see TDs in his future. Im also a big fan of Kyle Rudolph as well. Despite ADs dominance the Vikings will obviously have to develop a passing game in order to win. If Greg Jennings does not develop chemistry with Christian Ponder, Rudolph will be his go to guy. For now I start the safe bet with Bennet and see how the Vikes passing game develops. Hopefully, Peyton will keep covering up these mistakes for you. Gus: Oh you ARE playing this year. I wasnt sure. I thought you were gonna be too busy with the Liberachi Tribute tour. I said it before ill say it again What a KNOB!! Anyways there was no auto drafting your way out of this Week 1 ass whooping. Heres a stat for ya 11 of your 13 starters did not reach double digit points. Your best position player was Brian Hartline (30) and he was on your bench. Pssh some defending champ. Sorry cuz but youre officially on alert as a First to Worst candidate. Get your Shyt together.

Closing Comments:
Finally the Wrap Up has returned!!! I know weve all been going through some serious football withdrawal the past few months so nothing makes me happier then to bestow this gift upon you all each and every week. I will try to add a ton of videos, pictures etc this year to spice things up so make sure to click all the links and what not to get the full experience. This is definitely the best Fantasy league Im in all year and I th look forward to our 5 season. The list of past winners is as follows: Me (Joe) 2009, Kinan 2010 and 2011, Gus 2012. I consider my 09 Chip in the BC era (Before Competition) since many of the current players were not involved back then but it still counts.

SlobbaKnockin XIII: Week 1 Wrap Up

Who will win it this year though? Thats what we all want to know. This league has gotten more and more competitive every year. This year we have 2 newcomers. Heres a little background on these guys. Dan Medlock is Richs brother but he so much more than that. Hes a true competitor. Ive seen him run over more than his fair share of would-be tacklers back in his days with the Mineola Mustangs and look forward to him bringing the same effort and determination to his Fantasy team. Finally, the man weve all been clamoring for in THE Rich Carter. After years of hounding this dude to play Fantasy Football he FINALLY gets it. Its just too much fun not to be involved. I see this former Alien -Quarterback making a lot of noise this season and for years to come. So welcome fellas and good luck. Thats how we wrap it up feel free to post any comments, ideas for categories or trophies on the league page or facebook group.

And now without further ado here are my Week 2 Predictions:
