Objective

Educational qualifications

2002 to 2004 Master of Engineering in Industrial Safety from


Anna University, India

About College: TIFAC-CORE Department of Science & Technology (DST), New


Delhi, has recognized the department of Mechanical Engineering as a CENTRE OF
RELEVANCE & EXCELLENCE (CORE) in INDUSTRIAL SAFETY. A MoU / agreement was
signed between Department of Science and Technology and our college on 04-10-
2000. The TIFAC-CORE was launched by Bharat Ratna Dr.APJ.Abdulkalam, Principal
adviser to Govt. of India on 8-11-2000. Under TIFAC-CORE a safety lab has been
established at a cost of Rs.44.9/- lakhs. The college has spent nearly 36 lakh rupees
to construct a building for safety laboratory, classrooms and a permanent exhibition
hall.

Main programmes of the TIFAC-CORE are to create awareness among the workers on
safety, accident prevention, clean working environment, productivity improvement,
waste reduction, safety education & training etc. Every year TIFAC-CORE is

In 2005, SGGI set up its second float line within the same complex. With this
new float line, the Company has the capacity to produce 1200 tons of

B. Project : Paraxylene Project (PX2 Project), IOCL, India

About the project:
The Paraxylene/PTA Project, India's single largest PTA project, is taking shape
with the visionary initiatives of the largest petroleum enterprise of the nation. The
PX/PTA project marks Indian Oil's major step towards forward integration in the
Hydrocarbon Value Chain by manufacturing Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and
Paraxylene from Naphtha. The Paraxylene/PTA project was accorded approval by
the Indian Oil Board in January 2001 at a cost of Rs 5,104 crore.

The Paraxylene plant is designed to process 5,00,000 TPA of heart-cut


Naphtha to produce about 3,60,000 TPA of PX. Naphtha will be sourced from
Indian Oil's Panipat and Mathura Refineries, for which Naphtha Splitter Unit is
being constructed at the respective refineries. The PTA unit will produce 5,53,000
TPA of Purified Terephthalic Acid from Paraxylene. Technologically, the
Petrochemicals Plant will be one of the most advanced plants in the country.

IV) 2004 – Tuticorin Thermal Power Plant (T.T.P.S)


Designation: Project Mechanical Trainee (A Study of Air in improving
boiler efficiency)

Present Roles & Responsibility

 Provide advice to the Project Manager on HSE issues.

 Monitor statutory compliance by carried out regular inspections and


auditing the works.

 Undertake at least a weekly inspection and prepare a quantitative


report for submittal to the Project Manager.

 Report immediately to the senior management and serious safety


breaches that place workers in life threatening situations.

 Assist the sub contractors in undertaking risk assessment and


identifying safe systems of work to be recorded in safe work method
statements.

 Develop and deliver in house courses on HSE topics.

 Assist Engineer / Supervisors / Foreman in delivering toolbox talks to


the workers on the control measures identified in risk assessments
and the safe system of work to be adhered to.

 Develop and deliver the worker safety induction ensuring that all
workers receive an induction prior to starting work.
 Develop procedures for high risk activities and brief management
on their responsibilities under these procedures. Audit against these
procedures regularly and report any non compliance to the Project
Manager.

 Ensure that the sub contractors has an accident investigation


reporting procedure in line with HSE requirements

 Undertake the lead role in all accident investigations and ensure


that a written investigation report is provided to Authority for all
reportable accidents.

 Maintain registers for all cranes, hoists, lifting accessories and plant
to ensure that where required the necessary certification is in place
and up to date.

 Advise on the requirements for site welfare and carry out regular
inspections of the facilities, reporting any concerns to the Project
Manager.

 Maintain registers for, but not limited to, all heavy plant operators,
crane operators, signaler / slingers and certified scaffolders.
Ensuring that in these disciplines only 3rd party certified personnel
are employed.

 Review sub contractors HSE plan & approved the plan according to
the site situations.
