Other Regulatory Milestones

New rules for land application of fish manure go into effect July 1. Department of Agriculture chooses to participate in 2009 Aquaculture Grant Program to compensate to aquaculture producers for losses associated with high feed input costs during the 2009 calendar year.

Aquatic Weed Control is a little easier.

West Virginia residents who have a pond in West Virginia may purchase grass carp without an importation permit from in-state vendors.

Bizarre situation. Appeal for conviction interference with a fisherman. Submitted an appeal brief to the WV Supreme Court . He believed he owned the fish. It was not willful interference of a fisherman if he believed they were his property.
Corps and EPA cease and desist order for work in the stream remains. Mitigation plan developed. Proposal for modification of small check dams.
