Hardware Quality Standard (Indoor BTS) Description 8-Base station The installation position of rack must meet the design requirements. The cabinet or its base (bracket) is firmly fixed on the ground with expansion bolts and all of insulation washers, flat washers, spring washers, bolts and nuts are installed in a correct order. The insulating materials must be used when installing a cabinet to isolate it from the ground and wall. The RF cable connector needs to be installed perfectly to avoid the situation that the virtual connection would cause an abnormal VSWR and thus the normal system operation would be affected. Cable connectors must be clean before installation. The collection cable of environment alarm connected to the base station should have reliable lightning-proof protection measures. The parts of the rack must not be distorted which may be affect the equipment appearance. The vertical errors of cabinet must be less than 3mm. The Horizontal errors of cabinet must be less than 5mm. The cables should not be cross inside the cabinet. They cannot be pulled too tightly. Some redundancy must be reserved at their bend place. They also need to be bent in a tidy and consistent way. The fan must be tightened with screws. Its switch, rotation and alarm work normally. The part of peeling of the cable made on-site must be covered with protection tube or insulating tape. Unused ports of the boards must be covered with protection cover to protect these ports from dusts and other sundries. The movable accessories (like door & lock) of the cabinet should work normally. The matter that is paint break off and scratch and smear can not appear on cabinet. Which may be affect the equipment appearance. Otherwise the equipment must be repaint and cleaned. (9-Antenna and Feeder Installation) Waterproof and sealed measures for all outdoor jumpers and feeder cables must be correctly adopted according to specifications. Antennas must be in the 45-degree protected area of lightning rod. The feeder cables should not have obvious bending and twisting and bare copper appearance. The connector of feeder cable is made in a standard way without any loose connection. Antenna, Jumper and feeder check: 1. The azimuth and tilt angle of the installed antenna must accord with design specifications. 2. The antenna connection and sector relationship are correct without reverse connection and misconnection. 3. The jumper connects with antenna and feeder must be fasten enough. 4. The jumper connects with BTS and feeder must be fasten enough. The connection between antenna support and tower must be reliable and firm. The connection between antenna and its support must also be reliable and firm. When installing the tower amplification module, the side of connecting the antenna must be upward, and the other side of connecting the feeder cable must be downward. The installation position of tower amplification module must be close to the antenna. The azimuth error of the directional antenna must not be more than 5 degrees. Its tilt angle error must not be more than 0.5 degrees. (1) When the feeder cable is bent on the top of a building and then extended downward along the wall, the protective means should be used for the parts of contact with the wall corner. (2) When the feeder cable enter to room along the roof, the feeder clips should be used to fix the feeder cable.

(1) When a feeder window is installed on the top of building to lead the feeder cable into the room, it must be sealed well. (2) The antenna jumper and the feeder cable before the feeder window must have waterproof bends. The space between feeder clamps must be even and their direction must be same after installed. They must also be fixed firmly without any loose connection. The feeder cables should not cross after distributed. The minimum bending radius of a feeder cable must not be less than 20 times of its diameter. Black tie should be used in outdoor and some redundance 3~5mm must be reserved when cutting all of cable ties of outdoor. The jumper of the antenna must be tied along the rail of the support to the steel frame of the tower.
Jumper cables should be laid towards BTS layerwise and sectorwise.

(2-Indoor Auxiliary )
The alarm box, DDF and so on must be placed according to engineering design document, cables connections are made properly and firmly.
Alarm box should be grounded. The alarm monitoring system including distribution frame and alarm box should be connected in a reliable way and worked normally.

The auxiliary cables of alarm box must be distributed and tied in an orderly way. The redundant cable ties must be cut from bottom without any spine. The bending positions of auxiliary cables of alarm box must be smoothen to avoid bad contact. The front cover of the alarm box should be opened and closed smoothlyand the paint on its panel is perfect without any damage. PVC trough must be installed on the wall for power cable and signal cable of alarm box and extra length power cable and signal cable must be put under the floor or the cabling ladder at alarm box side by making a coil. (3-Power & Earth Cables) Supply and protection grounding cable must be whole copper core cable without any connector in between. Lugs must be crimped firmly. The supply and protection grounding cable must be connected in a correct and reliable way. The protection grounding cable of DDF and environment alarm box should be connected firmly. Extra length of supply and protection grounding cable must be cut instead of being coiled. Distribution box must be placed according to design document. The grounding of antenna and feeder cable on the top of a building without a tower must be connected to the nearby lightning-proof protection grounding net of the roof. (1) The feeder grounding clip is directly fixed on the steel sheet of the tower/ grounding bar according to the requirements. (2) The installation of grounding clip must accord with the standard requirement. (3) The antirust, anticorrosive and waterproof measures should be adopted for the grounding clip. Protection grounding cable must be connected to cabinet or part of the metal shell of rack and chassis in a correct and reliable way. The diameter of supply and protection grounding cable must meet requirement. Lugs should be wrapped with sleeves or insulating adhesive tape after crimping and there should not be any bare copper wire at the lug. The color of supply and protection grounding cable must meet the requirement, or satisfy the requirements of customer. The grounding cable of the door should be connected firmly. The supply or protection grounding cable must be distributed and tied tidily. The bending position of the supply and protection ground cable must be smoothen. Cable routing of the supply and protection grounding cable must be accorded to the engineering design document and easy to maintenance and expansion.

The spacing between supply and signal cable outside the cabinet must satisfy the design requirements. Generally, the spacing should be more than 3cm. (1) When two or more cables are connected to a wire pole, the cross or back-to-back installation method is generally adopted. (2)When lugs are overlapped, they must be bent at an angle of 45 or 90 degrees, the bigger one must be put on the bottom and smaller one. Size of the copper lugs must meet the design requirement. Flat washers and spring washers should be used in correct order at lugs end during connection. Cable glands of suitable size should be used at cable entries in ACDB & DCDBs. PVC channels should be used for general wiring. The feeder cable should be earthed at three points: (1) One meter away from the feeder-jumper connection on the top of tower. (2) One meter before bending or leaving vertical ladder (3) One meter before feeder window. The grounding cable of feeder clips should extend from up to down and the angle between grounding cable and feeder cable should not be more than 15 degrees. (4-Signal Cable ) There should not be any breakage, rupture and intermediate connector on the signal cable. The connector made on site must be accorded with the specification, and be connected correctly and reliably. Signal cable should not be distributed on the heat radiation mesh of the cabinet. For cable connectors, they must be cleaned before installation. If necessary, they must be cleaned according to specifications. Cable must be tied with uniform spacing and moderate tightness and redundant parts of the tie must be cut from the bottom.
The route of signal cable in the cabinet is correct (refer installation manual).

Routing of the signal cable must be accorded to the engineering design document and easy to maintenance and expansion. Distribution of cables outside cabinet: 1. The cables should be distributed without any cross and bending. 2. Cable should be tied in a rectangle at its beams on cable ladder (single-core cables can be tied in a round). The bending position of signal cable should be smooth.
The part of peeling of the cable should be covered with insulating tape.

( 7-Labels) Color ring should be stuck at correct position on Jumper and feeder cables. (1)On Outdoor Jumper: 200 mm away from Antenna port and outdoor jumper connectors. (2)On Feeder: a. 200 mm away from outdoor feeder connector. b. Within 1 m from the position where the feeder leaves the tower. c. 1 m away from the feeder window before entering into equipment room. d. 200 mm away from indoor feeder connector. (3)On Indoor Jumper:200 mm away from indoor Jumper connector & BTS port. (1)The cable labels should be filled in and stuck correctly and reliably. (2)Labels should be stuck at the place 2cm away from the connector and in the same direction. (19-Site Clean) Retain the additional engineering material for future use. Subcon should not waste or throw away the engineering material optionally. Discarded cable ties, screws and other sundries should not be found in the equipment room. The equipment room should be neatness and tidy. Discarded packing materials should be cleaned. (20-Final Inspection)

The self-inspection report is archived with VSWR test report. The engineering supervisor must hand in the selfinspection report of engineering hardware quality. Extra points will be deducted for each Major problem found during the spot check. The alarm monitoring system is normal in test. It should not has any alarm when it runs normally. The power-on hardware test of equipment should be normal.

Cable glands of suitable size should be used at cable entries in ACDB & DCDBs. PVC channels should be used for general wiring. (4-Signal cables) There should not be any breakage, rupture and intermediate connector on the signal cable. The connector made on site must be accorded with the specification, and be connected correctly and reliably. Signal cable should not be distributed on the heat radiation mesh of the cabinet. Cable connectors must be clean before installation. Cable must be tied with uniform spacing and moderate tightness and redundant parts of the tie must be cut from the bottom.

(7-Labels) Color ring should be stuck at correct position on Jumper, Power and fiber cables. (1)On Outdoor Jumper: 200 mm away from Antenna port and RRU port. Within 1 m from the position where the Power & Fiber leaves the tower. c. 1 m away from the feeder window before entering into equipment room. d. 200 mm away from the feeder window after entering the equipment room. e. 200 mm away from BBU port. 14.1.026 The bending position of cables should be smooth. The labels of cable are filled in and stuck correctly and reliably. They must be tidy 14.1.027 position and same direction. Subcon should not waste or throw away the engineering material optionally. Discarded cable ties, screws and other sundries should not be found in the equipment room. The equipment room should be neatness and tidy. Discarded packing materials should be cleaned. The self-inspection report is archived. The engineering supervisor must hand in the selfinspection report of engineering hardware quality. Extra points will be deducted for each Major problem found during the spot check.

The alarm monitoring system is normal in test. It should not have any alarm when it runs normally. 14.1.042 The power-on hardware test of equipment should be normal.
