OBJECTIVE
This CAD standard establishes the settings for modelling and drawing production using :- Microstation V7 for 3D models used in conjunction with PDS models. - Microstation XM for all other drawing documentation.

GENERAL
Software
Microstation Microstation J XM V07.01.05.03 shall be used for all 3D modelling. V08.09.04.51 shall be used for all other drawing documentation.

Drawing Numbering
Refer Project Numbering Specification document 4219298-PM-GS-001.
2.3
CAD Filenames & Directory Structure

Electronic file names shall be identical to the drawing number format followed by the application file extension and all deliverables drawing to be filed in the Project directory on the cad on Perth dc Drive. Example: K:\600035\CAD\Piping\600035-200-PI-DW-10001.dgn

Seed Files
The Project Seed Files shall be used for the creation of all models and drawings. The seed files contain the default settings described in this document. The following seed files are available. Note: Perth Base (Not the same in Mumbai) uStn Ver mu 7 7 7 7 7 7 8 m

The correct seed file for Items 1 to 5 above are selected by the PDS/Frameworks software. Items 6, 7 & 8 require the user to select the correct seed file for the task.

Drawing Border
The Project Drawing Border shall be referenced into the drawing. The title block shall be filled out at the start of the drawing using the tags provided within the border cells. The first revision shall be filled in, Rev A PRELIMINARY / UNCHECKED A Preliminary Not For Construction stamp shall be placed in the bottom right hand corner of the border sheet above the title block.

Drawing Revisions
Refer Project Numbering Specification document 4219298-PM-GS-001. Contractual issue revisions shall be flagged with a Revision Triangle and the area revised clouded. Refer Level Allocation Table for settings. Subsequent issues shall remove the previous Revision Triangle and revision cloud. Refer WI-EN-2-3-5 Drawing Issue & Approvals.

Holds
Holds shall be placed on contractual issue drawings where information is not ready for release. The default Hold Designator shall be placed adjacent to the area on hold and clouded with a reverse cloud. Refer Level Allocation Table for settings. The Hold Designator shall also be placed below the notes area with a description of the hold. All holds shall be allocated from the Project Hold Register. Refer document 600035-WIEN-3-3-3.

Primary Search Paths

The Configuration variable Primary Search Paths / Reference Files shall be used to set the required search paths for models and specific reference files. The Save Full Path Toggle should not be turned on when attaching Reference Files into a drawing / model. The exception is when a specific drawing is referenced in that is outside the Project cad file area and in that case the Save Full Path toggle should be turned on.

2.14 Level Naming Scheme MicroStation Xm
The level naming scheme for MicroStation XM has been devised to allow for the creation of simple Level Filters to display only the level names of interest to a particular discipline. 1.2 Users cannot modify the existing standard level names or the existing level filters. Users may create new level names; however the names of the levels must adhere to the level naming scheme where the first three characters are one of the following: An_ Ci_ Co_ El_ Me_ Pi_ Pr_ St_ Annotation Civil Concrete Electrical Mechanical Piping Process (P&ID, PFD) Structural
Users may create additional level filters if required on a per drawing basis so that they can restrict the displayed level names. Note that level filters only filter the display of the levels for selection in the level pull down box and in the level manager. Level Filters do not affect the display of any graphics. Use the Level Display dialog for that. Standard level names for MicroStation XM are as shown in fig.1 below. These levels will be available in any CAD file that is opened and should be used where appropriate. The naming scheme is also a guideline so that where more levels are required for any purpose; they should be named using the same consistent naming scheme. This allows any new levels to be included in the existing level filters as the filters are defined as the first three characters of the level name, followed by wild card for the rest of the level name e.g. levels that start with the characters Me_ will be included in the Mechanical level filter. 1.3 The following discipline based level filters exist. Each filter includes the discipline specific levels plus the standard annotation levels (named An_...). FIG 1

To change the active level filter, select Filter: on the levels pull down box.
With Filter: set to none, all levels displayed.
On the Recall Filter dialog, select the name of the required filter.

Now the list of levels on the level selection pull down is restricted to just the concrete levels plus the standard annotation levels.
With Filter: set to CONCRETE, only Co_ and An_ levels are displayed.
