Constitution and Bylaws


ARTICLE I. NAME The name of the organization shall be Clique The MSU-IIT Photography Club. ARTICLE II. PURPOSE Clique The MSU-IIT Photography Club is focused on the artistic, social and cultural fields of photography. The organization is aimed to gather individuals who express an interest in photography to be able to develop their skills and talents to promote the art and understanding of photography within the bounds of the MSU-IIT community by rightful ways such as exhibits, seminars, forums, meetings, and other educational interactive activities. ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP Section 1: Eligibility a. Membership in this organization shall be open to all students in good standing currently enrolled in the Institute, Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) including the high school department (MSU-IIT Integrated Developmental School) regardless of course, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or physical disability. b. Membership in this organization shall be open to all faculty and staff that are presently and officially employed to the Institute. c. Membership in this organization shall also be open to all alumni of the Institute, MSU-IIT, regardless of year of graduation. d. Membership in this organization shall also be open to all individuals that have studied, worked, or served in the Institute but have cut relations with the Institute due to moral and justifiable reasons through a two-third majority vote by all present members. Section 2: Retention Membership shall be retained unless the student severs relations with the Institute by suspension or expulsion through immoral conduct or other violations. Membership shall be retained upon a special situation such as a decision to drop out of school youth or a decision to transfer to another institute, college, or university, upon a two-thirds majority vote by the present members. Membership shall also be retained during official vacations and recesses of the Institute.

Section 3: Dues and Fees All members shall pay such annual dues as may be designated from time to time. These fees may cover expenses for activities such as exhibits or seminars. Section 4: Resignation Any member may resign at any time by filing a written resignation with the Secretary. ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS Section 1: Composition The officers of the group shall consist of a President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and Public Relations Officers (Internal and External). Other positions may be designated by the group from time to time. Section 2: Eligibility a. All positions excluding the external public relations officer should be enrolled undergraduates of the Institute, MSU-IIT. b. External Public Relations Officers can be any official external members or alumni of the Institute. Section 3: Responsibilities c. The President shall be the chief executive officer of the group and shall have general supervision and control of its activities and programs. d. The Vice-President shall assist the President and assume his or her duties when the President is unable to serve. e. The Secretary shall keep a record of all meetings of the group and of all activities and programs. He or she will handle all formal correspondence between members and officers of the group. f. The Treasurer shall have general charge of the financial affairs of the group. He or she shall keep accurate records of these affairs. g. The Auditor shall assist the treasurer and keep a separate accurate records of such financial affairs of the group. h. The Public Relations Officer Internal shall be dynamic in the dissemination of accurate information to the members and other specified persons within the institute. i. The Public Relations Officer External shall be assigned to disseminate such information to the external members (alumni) or other specified persons in relation to the organization.

ARTICLE V. ELECTIONS Section 1: Election Day Officers shall be elected annually by the members of the group. Elections shall be held during the second Wednesday of the month of June. The term of office shall start a week after the Election Day. Section 2: Eligibility for Nomination Any undergraduate member of the group may be nominated for election. Nominations shall be filed in writing with the Secretary at least three days before the date appointed for elections. All members shall have one vote by secret ballot. Members may vote by written proxy if necessary. The Secretary shall be responsible for informing all members of the election time and the candidates as soon as nomination has closed.

ARTICLE VI. MEETINGS Section 1: Regularity Meetings of the group shall be held on a regular basis for the purpose of determining policy, activities, programs, and other business. Special meetings of the group may be called by the President, the Secretary, or any five members of the group. Section 2: Quorum A quorum shall consist at least one-half plus one of the members. Section 2: Announcements Announcement of regular and special meetings shall be communicated to all members of the group by the Public Relations Officers. ARTICLE VII. ADVISOR Section 1: Selection There shall be a faculty/staff officially registered in the institute, MSU-IIT, who shall be selected annually by the members a day after results of the election of officers. Section 2: Responsibilities a. The advisor shall maintain awareness of the activities and programs organized by the club. b. The advisor shall meet in a regular basis with the President of the organization to discuss about upcoming meetings, plans, and other activities. c. The advisor should be able to attend regular meetings

d. After the Election Day, the advisor shall assist in the orientation of new officers. e. The advisor shall explain and clarify institute policies that apply to the organization and any activity it may hold. f. The advisor shall guide and observe every activity the club shall hold and give a detailed evaluation after each activity. ARTICLE VIII. AMENDMENTS This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the group and any three members of the group may propose an amendment. Proposals shall be filed in writing with the Secretary prior to a meeting, so that the group may debate the proposal. Amendments may be voted on at regular or special meetings.

Vision A distinguished organization of photographers renowned for its outstanding service, quality production, and social awareness, participation and community involvement in the fields of photography. Mission To develop and showcase the talents and skills of each individual in the fields of photography and provide quality services and exhibits and perform distinguished roles and responsibilities of the institute and the community. Goals 1. to link individuals with an interest of any field of photography into one collective unit 2. to culture the talents and develop the skills of the said individuals as a part of their growth within the organization 3. to build a communication with the community through the works and services of the individuals of the organization and the organization itself 4. to educate and inspire the society in the fields of photography and related arts Objectives 1. Skills Development. The organization aims to develop the skills of its members through regular club-exclusive training seminars and open forums for the opportunity to share and learn different styles and techniques from one another. 2. Social Interaction. The organization aims to achieve social interaction through means of institute-exclusive or publicly-open activities such as exhibits, forums, seminars, or contests. 3. Expansion and Extension. The organization aims to continually expand throughout the Institute and beyond it to cater individuals sharing the organizations interests and extend its knowledge and values to the community.
