FLSmidth Cross-Bar Cooler

Its the smart way to upgrade your cooler to the new standard. With its modular design, the FLSmidth Cross-Bar Cooler is flexible enough to enable complete or partial upgrades of most existing clinker coolers.

When is an upgrade appropriate? Upgrading to the FLSmidth Cross-Bar Coolers advanced clinker cooling technology is worth considering if you would like to: - - - -
Standard units are preassembled in the workshop to ensure high quality and fast, easy, cost-effective installation.

The upgrade process Since every project is unique, we thoroughly study your existing equipment and operational process to ensure the best solution. Typical steps to the upgrade process encompass the following: - Install new grate/cross-bar units with supporting structure below. - Install a new Air-Blast Controlled (ABC) fixed inlet. - Install the required hydraulic drive system and piping. - Replace or upgrade the existing cooling air fans, as necessary. - Upgrade or install new PLC program and supplementary electrical parts and instrumentation. The upper cooling casing (housing) may or may not be reused, depending on the existing coolers size and condition. The existing kiln firing hood and clinker crusher will also be evaluated. Cost-effective installation Cooler upgrades can typically be accomplished with a one- to two-week extension of your yearly maintenance outage. While the ROI calculation differs for every plant, increased production typically easily justifies the shutdown. Request a customised ROI calculation for details.
