PROCEDURE ACTIVITY 1 WARM-UP AIMS: to focus the Ss attention to get Ss involved into the topic PROCEDURE - Introductory conversation - Game: Ss have to solve the tasks on the cards in order to get a piece of the puzzle -T asks the Ss to choose a card where they have a task. When they solve the task, a piece of the puzzle appears on the screen. So on until the four quarters of the picture appear on the screen. -Ss have to guess who is in the picture -answer: it is a picture of the teacher when she was five. ACTIVITY 2 Presentation listening, writing AIMS: to identify past forms for the verb to be to enrich their vocabulary adjectives of feeling PROCEDURE - Teacher starts talking about herself as a little girl using was/ were. I was five in this picture. I wasnt sad. My hair was short. I wasnt angry. My eyes were big. (showing cards illustrating the adjectives) My mouth was small. I was a thin girl. I was a happy girl. -T writes a few sentences on the Bb and Ss copy them in their copybook, underlining the past form forms of to be - T writes the adjectives on the BB next to the flashcards and the Ss copy them in their copybooks INTERACTION T-Ss TIMING 10 min

Practice-speaking

AIMS: to practise the newly learnt structure to use the adjectives PROCEDURE - T asks the Ss questions: Were you a happy baby? Were you an angry baby? and writes the answers on the Bb: Yes, I was. No, I wasnt. -Ss ask similar questions to each other ACTIVITY 4 Practice- listening INTERACTION TIMING T-Ss 10 min Ss-Ss pairwork

AIMS: to listen for specific information to understand the meaning of a spoken-heard message( match pictures with words) PROCEDURE PRE-LISTENING -T elicits from the Ss the nouns denoting the pictures: shops, hospital, park, zoo, theatre, party ( some them may be new and the T will teach them) - Ss write the places where Kim was last week in their copybooks and next to each of them they will fill the days of the week WHILE-LISTENING Ss listen to the Cd and fill in the days of the week for each place Kim was POST LISTENING -Ss check their answers with the screen -then T check their understanding saying correct or false sentences: Kim was at the zoo on Saturday. No, she wasnt at the zoo. She was at the shops. INTERACTION T-S Writing Speaking Ss-Ss TIMING 15min

Ending the lesson HOMEWORK: to provide consolidation of language and grammar so far Write seven sentences saying where you were each day last week. (I was at the cinema on Monday) T. assigns the homework by giving clear instructions. Assessment: T. praises all the Ss. for their participation during the entire lesson. T gives a plus to the most active Ss.
