Common Setting for the Series
Game series idea: Paper & pencil game series are based on a creative board game idea that all game elements are simplified to a map, and there is no need for cards and other game parts. Players may play by only using a pencil to mark the map. Random number: There are 3 ways to generate random number. The preferred one is a dice; the second one is a Poker deck. Players may also use their hands to simulate a dice as follows: 1D6 (one 6-sided dice): Each player gives one hand with 0 to 5 fingers by choice. Total the numbers for both players hands, add 2 to the number. If the number is greater than 6, deduct the number by 6. 1D2, 1D3, 1D4, and 1D5 are similar. 1D10 (one 10-sided dice): Each player gives one hand with 0 to 5 fingers by choice. Total the numbers for both players hands. 1D20 (one 20-sided dice): Each player gives two hands with 0 to 5 fingers by choice. Total the numbers for both players hands. Mark the map: Players may mark the map (for skills, upgrade, or magic, etc.) with A & B, or any symbols they like.

Objective
Defeat gold dragon and conquer the magic land with holy runes. : Get 1 scroll randomly : Battle with an elf. Winner may get 1 rune randomly (similar for battle with 1 monster and get rewards) : Teleport to the latter teleport on the map : Roll a dice one more time : Move forward 5 cells : Move back 5 cells : Move back to Start Cell : Battle Field Cell. Challenge any player (the challenger plays first), the winner gets 1 rune or scroll randomly. : Boss Cell. Battle with a Boss (Skeleton King; similar for battle with 1 another Boss). A player may choose not to challenge the Boss and return to Start Cell; or battle with the Boss. If the player defeats the Boss, the player may go to the next map and places the pawn on the Start Cell of the next map; else, the player returns to Start Cell of the current map and skips 1 turn. : Final Boss Cell. Battle with Final Boss (Gold Dragon). Players must challenge the Final Boss. If a player defeats the Boss, the player is the winner of the game; else, the player returns to Start Cell of the current map and skips 1 turn.

Components
7 maps (4 battle maps, 1 rune map, 1 scroll map, and 1 character map); 1 pencil; one 6-sided dice and one 20-sided dice (preferred); 2 pawns (preferred).

Game Setup
Preparing: Everybody chooses and marks 1 role (of 4 roles) and chooses 1 pawn, chooses and marks 1 rune and 1 scroll randomly by rolling a 20-sided dice, and places the pawn on the battle map (WastelandStart Cell). Role: 4 roles. The level of a role is the same as the level of the map. Rune: 18 runes in the game. Runes can be played each battle. Each player can own at most 6 runes. Scroll: 18 scrolls in the game. Scrolls can only be played once. Each player can own at most 6 scrolls. Turn: a single player's chance to play Round: everyone around the table having a turn Active Player: the player who is playing currently Sacrifice: when a player has more than 6 runes or 6 scrolls, the player has to choose the extra runes or scrolls to sacrifice and marks them accordingly. Playing : Each player rolls a 6-sided dice. The player who gets the largest number goes first, then play continues clockwise around the table. Battle Map: Specific cell icons explained as follows : All pawns start from this Start Cell : Battle with a skeleton (similar for battle with 1 monster) : Battle with two skeletons (similar for battle with 2 monsters)

Starting the Game

Each round, the first player rolls a 6-sided dice and moves on the battle map from Start Cell to Boss Cell, and other players follow in order.

Battle with monster : player starts first. The player may choose to use ability, rune or scroll in each battle turn. Ability can only be used once each battle and may be played anytime; only 1 rune can be played in each battle turn (this rune cannot be used in the same battle); only 1 scroll can be played in each battle turn, and remove the scroll from game with a mark after its effect. The monster attacks secondly. Roll a 20-sided dice to activate monster attack action. If there are 2 or more monsters, each monster attacks separately. If there are 1 player and 1 summoned phantom in a team, each monster uses separate monster attack to attack each team member. For example, when a Warrior and 1 summoned phantom battle with 2 Red Dragons, the Warrior player and the phantom may choose who attacks first, and attack any 1 monster by order; then each Red Dragon uses 2 monster attack separately for each target. Summoned monsters work the same way. Both summoned phantoms and monsters can attack in the first turn when summoned. If a player loses a battle with monsters, the player has to return to Start Cell. Battle with player: each player may use ability, runes and scrolls to attack the opponent. A player can attack the other player when their pawns placed in the same cell. The attacker plays first in the battle. If a player loses a battle with the other player, the player has to return to Start Cell. A player can also challenge another player when the pawn placed in the Battle Field Cell. The challenger plays first in the battle. The winner may get 1 rune or scroll randomly while the loser does not need to return to Start Cell.

Challenge Mode
No map needed. Each player is level 4, and equips 6 runes and 6 scrolls randomly. Each player rolls a dice, and the player with the largest number plays first. After that, the losing player in the last battle plays first. The first player winning two consecutive battles is the winner.

The first player beating the Final Boss Gold Dragon, is the winner.

Map Mode
