Purpose of the Cell Ministry

Why do we hold Cell meetings?

The meetings and programs we organize are not our purpose but a means to achieving our objectives. The church services, PCF meetings, conferences, ministry materials and television programs that we release around the world are all in pursuit of our purpose. These meetings and activities are designed to create opportunities for men, women and children; to hear and learn the word of God and participate in spiritual worship. We create an atmosphere of faith, prayer and inspiration where they can receive a personal impartation and conviction of the vision of Christ for them to grow to spiritual maturity, live victorious lives and help others do the same. From this statement above, we can encapsulate a statement of purpose for the Cell Ministry: Our purpose is to reach people with the Gospel of Christ and equip them to be leaders/agents of change in their families, at work, church, nation and the world. This is what the Win, Build and Send principle is all about. We equip them through the word of God, teach and strengthen them so that they can live a victorious Christian life and help others do the same. .culled from the Leaders Training Program with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome - Jan 2009

Chapter One

The Pastoral Care Fellowship (PCF)

The Pastoral Care Fellowship [PCF] is an arm of the Cell Ministry designed to cater for the needs of the brethren. This system groups people according to their appropriate needs and cater for their total spiritual nourishment. The PCF system is seen as a family of believers aimed at reaching everybodys spiritual needs, dwelling in union with one another, inspiring, teaching, exhorting one another, living like Christ and abiding in the word for perfect victory in their daily lives. In the PCF, brethren come together to pray and have fellowship and walk together in love. This family; however, cannot remain the same because where the Word is preached, it grows and multiplies. The members have a major responsibility to bring more people into the body of Christ and keep them well fed with the word of God so that they will enjoy the family of God and have an experience of Gods life through the expression of love demonstrated by the brethren. The responsibility therefore rests on the PCF/PCU/Cell Leader to motivate the brethren to do this. The goal of the PCF system is summed thus: Soul winning and soul development. So the PCF system carries on pastoral work to the individual members of the church. Understanding some important aspects of pastoral work is therefore imperative. The word pastoral therefore implies that which pertains to the pastor or which relates to the work of a pastor

The office of a Bishop in relation to PCF Leadership

Scripturally, the office that directly relates to that of the Pastor is the office of a Bishop. The word Bishop originates from the Greek word episkope which is derived from episkeo. The meaning of episkeo is seen in the duties that the Bishop performs. It means to visit, consider, examine, provide, care and look after. Thus, leaders of congregations or fellowship groups that are so appointed have the responsibility to do the aforementioned. Those appointed in these

offices are sometimes called Elders [Titus 1:5-8]. As a PCF leader, you could be referred to as an Elder or Bishop in your local church. Just like the Pastor, the Bishop is also an office [1st Timothy 3:1]. The qualities for nomination are also seen in 1st Timothy 3:1-7. Although they have similar duties, there is a remarkable difference between both offices.

What is care?
Care means to be concerned about or interested in someone elses well being; to have a responsible charge, a watchful regard; oversight or attention. Care also connotes the sense of responsibility expressed in charge and management. With an understanding of the office and the meaning of care, we can define who the PCF leader is.

The PCF Leader

A PCF leader is one who has been given the charge over a group or congregation of people to oversee, lead and guide them. He is responsible to care and cater for their well being which is expressed in charge management and oversight. He assists the Pastor to ensure the implementation of pastoral policies, the growth and development of the brethren in his charge. He is to facilitate meaningful fellowship, organized evangelism and organized follow-up in the church. He is to make sure that, as many people as he makes contact with become vital members of the church by becoming Cell members. The PCF leader uses his God-given gifts in teaching the word [he must however not teach anything different from what he has learnt from his Pastor], comforting, demonstrating love, helping others, ministering in the gifts, working miracles and of course in prayers [Colossians 4:2]. If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracle of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as of the ability of which God giveth, to whom be the praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter4:11

Requirements of a PCF Leader

Lets look at how you become a PCF leader, you started out by becoming a Cell member in the Cell and because of your commitment and soul winning activities in the Cell you became a Bible-Study Class teacher and you progressed until you became a Cell Leader. As a Cell leader, you pioneered more Cells from your existing Cell and this made you a PCU leader, having at least three Cells under you. You were able to manage your Cells properly and as they multiplied you became who you are today, a PCF leader. The experiences gained from these responsibilities are what is needed to actively and adequately function as a PCF leader, if you did not go through the ranks then you missed a lot and your experience as a PCF leader would not be devoid of troubles. You cannot be a PCF leader until you have at least 3 PCUs and Cells under those PCUs.

Characteristics of a PCF Leader

The character of a PCF leader is that of a disciplined and faithful leader who leads an exemplary and transparent style for others to learn from. You should be aware that the brethren come in contact with you more than the Pastor and some will even communicate with you on a daily basis. The new converts and believers look up to you, they learn the Christian lifestyle/character from you and some others will want to look, talk, walk and even act like you. In the scriptures, the Lord Jesus said my sheep follow me We however need to understand that the sheep follow the shepherds voice, they are trained to recognize the shepherds voice but the lambs dont follow the shepherd, they follow the sheep. How do the sheep teach the lamb how to follow the shepherd? They dont teach it by talking; they teach it by following. As the lambs follow the sheep, the sheep follows the shepherd. This means that the way you are

expected to teach or train the leaders who are under you is by being an example. Here are some of the characteristics of a PCF leader

A Producer, not an Administrator

An administrator will merely give instructions, but a producer shows those he is leading what to do and how to do it and he leads the way in doing those things. He not only produces results, but he makes those under him to do the same.

He makes himself available

Firstly, a PCF leader makes himself available to his Pastor and he is always available to those under him. Availability communicates seriousness in the work to others, which in turn creates an environment for the productivity of the Cells/ PCUs /PCF.

He has a vision
The PCF leader has the right picture of what the PCF should portray. Firstly, he communicates the vision of the ministry to his members; he ensures that the ministry is fully represented in his PCF. He takes earnest interest on how meetings are organized in his group, he prepares prayerfully for meetings and teaches his members to do the same, and he is concerned about how those under him respond to things pertaining to the ministry.

He speaks positively about the PCF

A PCF leader speaks positive things about the group and the members. You can cause growth, stagnation or death to your PCF/PCU/Cells with your words. Remember that life and death are in the power of the tongue [Proverbs 18:21]. Understand that your tongue is a tree of life, therefore whatever you say concerning your group is what youll have. The PCF leader should be friendly; he should have a kind disposition and should always speak words of encouragement.

He is punctual and keeps to time

Like the aforementioned, being a leader, it is expected of you to be the example to those you are leading. What you treat as important is what your brethren will also consider important. If you demonstrate that the meeting is vital enough by attending punctually, they will see the meeting in that same light. Dont find yourself in a situation where you apologize frequently for coming late for meetings or not showing up for meetings at all.

He is enthusiastic
Be enthusiastic about what God is doing in your PCF. Your enthusiasm will help get others interested in what you are doing, and they will get involved in it. At the same time, you will be able to transfer your enthusiasm and excitement to your members and they will in turn begin to respond to things in the same way.

He is well informed and goes after knowledge

A PCF leader must always ensure that he is up to date with the plans and progress of the PCF. He must ensure that he always has spiritual answers to questions of the members and that his communication is as one full of wisdom and knowledge. If for any reason, you are not sure of an answer, you can go back to your Pastor for proper clarifications. This can only be achieved by being a person who thirsts for knowledge.
Chapter Two

The Responsibilities of a PCF Leader

Praying

Every Christian is called to the priestly ministry of prayer. As a PCF leader, you must therefore bear in mind that you are, first of all a Christian before you are anything else. Praying is our sovereign responsibility; it is a heavenly ministry. As we pray, we make intercessions for our PCF/PCU/Cells, our members and the church.

Studying
A PCF leader must invest in necessary materials for his personal growth and development. Some of such materials include various kinds of study bibles, our ministry materials as well as our messages in all formats. This will aid his bible study life and his knowledge of Gods word in different areas.

Training leaders
As a PCF leader, it is certain that you would like to see a situation where someone you led to Christ goes through the ranks and becomes a PCF leader also. Jesus said, if you are faithful in little, you are faithful in much [Luke 16:10]. To achieve this you have to work on having a thriving group of PCUs and Cells. However, that is not going to happen until you PCU/ Cell leaders are practically involved in the vision. You will have to actively train these leaders continuously; you will multiply yourself in them. You will communicate your drive and enthusiasm and love for the things of God to them. One of your primary concerns should be how to turn your PCU leaders into PCF leaders as well; you must put the picture before them and inspire them to go for it. What kind of training do you give your members? First, recognize that you will not train them on doctrines; your Pastor is already doing that. Your part will be to pint them on the teachings of your Pastor. Secondly, you will not be giving them a new vision except the one the Pastor has given. So how do you do it? Pastor Chris Oyakhilome tells us a story saying Many years ago, a leader came to me and said, My brethren dont pray. Ive done all I can but still they dont pray, what can I do? immediately, I understood his situation and I told him, the reason they dont pray is because prayer is not what you teach in a seminar, its fine that you explain different things about prayer, but so many people are not going to pray because of your explanation, I told him people simply learn to pray by you praying, people learn to win souls by you actively winning souls, they are things you must do practically. Sometimes we spend so much time repeating ourselves, trying to teach and train the members. The way to train them as a PCF leader is that when you come for cell meeting, show them how to hold a cell meeting, dont come to the cell meeting alone, come with some other people that you have invited. At the end of the meeting, when the first timers are being recognized, let them know who your invitees are, that will inspire others to invite people also. For example, when you organize evangelical outreaches, ensure that youre there and actively taking part in winning souls, that way the motivation of the members will increase and very soon they will receive the confidence to do the same and learn to be even more effective in reaching out to others. Dont assume that they know how to evangelize, or go on follow-up and visitations; you will have to teach them on the field by practically showing them how it is done and to experience the joy of winning others to Christ.

Planting Cells
Having attained the level of a PCF leader, you must continue to do the things that got you to this position of authority, you ought to win more souls and become a cell leader even though you are already a PCF leader.

What you do is always pioneer new cells, train someone within a specified time to take over the cell while you go ahead to pioneer another. That way, you become a church planter. Though we call them cells but you are actually planting churches. Planting them now becomes your dream and vision. Church planting that is what you are into. You plant a new cell and put a leader there, you come to an area, and you discover there are several shops there and then you get in there, familiarize yourself with those in the area, and talk to someone about Jesus. Then you move to another shop, talk to another person, before long you would have at least 3 people from each shop. The next thing is to organize a meeting for them and let them something has started. In a short while, you may have 15 members, but you dont stop there, while this is still coming on and you are strategizing here, start another thing there. That way you will establish your presence in that place and at the same time you are increasing the number of people you are able to reach. You will need to ensure you have a good structure [you will find more about this in cell ministry manual]. If you put yourself into it, those little cells you have started would multiply and in a short while, you will need very large venues to hold your PCF meetings. Remember this when you think about growing, God is more concerned and willing about your growth than you could ever be. God wants you to grow; you could not be more willing than God is. He is more passionate and desirous for your success than you could ever be; how many people would you die for, Jesus died for us, He is the one who paid for our salvation, we couldnt want him more than Him, he has sacrificed himself to give us life. This is what it means to be a burning and a shining light. In summary, the real responsibility of a PCF leader is that of a missionary. There are those who are in the cells/PCUs who cannot win souls until they see you winning souls first, and while you are doing this, you are teaching you PCU leaders to do the same. As a result, what happens in your group is growth because it is expanding. Become conscious of church planting today such that you can have over 5000 people in a meeting without publicity. The Holy Spirit inspiring others and creating great opportunities for you in the future would use the experience you will get from such ministry.

Visiting Cells
Though the PCF leader is busy pioneering cells and raising new leaders to lead these cells, he must have a plan and a schedule to visit the cells periodically. This is for the purpose of strengthening and encouraging the cell leader and the members. He also does this to ensure that the cell leader is doing what is expected of him in our guidelines usually contained in the cell registers. Another thing he looks out for in his visit is the venue of the cell meeting, he must ensure that the place being used is befitting.

Follow-Up and Visitation

A PCF leader is vitally involved in follow up and visitations. He follows up the PCU leaders, the cell leaders and the members in his group. His goal is to make all men ardent disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. [Please refer to the book Follow up Dynamics for more information on follow up and visitations]

Reporting and Feedback

The PCF leader not only ensures that the records of all his PCFs activities are well kept, but that such records are sent to the churchs coordinating office[PFCC] as at when due. For example, he must own his personal copy of the cell register for the purpose of monitoring apart from the fact that he himself is a cell leader, he must also ensure that all his PCU leaders and Cell leaders have

their copies of the Cell Register. It does not end there, it is the responsibility of the PCF leader to ensure that the cell leaders submit their cell registers to the coordinating office on a weekly basis [i.e. all reports should get to the PFCC within 24 hours after each meeting]. He should have a time also to go through the registers and make his comments with due approval from the coordinating office. The PCF leader should recognize that the PCU leader are there to help him carry out his responsibilities, he must be careful however not to relegate his duties to the PCU leader. In the next chapter, we shall be looking at the Pastoral Care Unit in relation to the PCF and what the responsibilities of a PCU leader are.
Chapter Three

The Pastoral Care Unit

The Pastoral Care Unit [PCU] is a unit under the Pastoral Care Fellowship [PCF]. The PCU has a minimum of 3 cells under it. The PCU is borne out of the soul winning activities of a cell leader [please refer to the cell ministry manual to know how a cell member grows to become a bible study class teacher and from there to a cell leader] To become a PCU, a cell should have produced at least two other cells to make three. Thats why we say a PCU should have at least 3 cells to be qualified to become a PCU. The leader of the original cell that produced the 2 other cells becomes the PCU leader by virtue of his soul winning and his ability to raise new leaders under him. Relationship between the PCU and PCF The PCU bridges the gap between the PCF and the cell. We could also say that the PCU leader bridges the gap between the PCF leaders and the cell leader. With the presence of the PCU leader, things ought to happen faster in the PCF. The PCU does not function on its own, the PCU leader reports directly to the PCF leader. If for any reason, the PCF leader is not around, maybe by virtue of the fact that he travelled out of town; the PCU leader must be available and able to stand for the PCF leader. Note that the PCF has at least 3 PCUs, it then means that all the PCU leaders should be able to stand for the PCF leader in his absence. In most cases, the PCF leader may have an outstanding PCU leader assisting him in that capacity.

The Goal of the PCU

The goal of the PCU is to become a PCF. A PCU leader must aspire to move to the next level in his work. This he can achieve by growing his PCU to produce more cells and more leaders.

Responsibilities of a PCU Leader

The PCU leader has the same responsibilities as the PCF leader; however there are some duties he would carry out in assistance role to the PCF leader. Praying and Studying are also his responsibilities; he however does them largely as part of his Christian commitment and devotion. Just like the PCF leader, he will need to develop himself spiritually, that way he can have more and a better influence over his members. He ought to pray for both his superiors and subordinates [i.e. his pastors, his PCF leader, Cell leaders and members]. He can also provide practical training for those under him, by leading them in soul winning and other spiritual activities that we engage in as Christians. Most of the things he will impart are those he has learnt and imbibed from the Pastor or his PCF leader.

Planting Cells is one of the key responsibilities of a PCU leader. He ought to help his PCF leader identify areas of need, maybe in his catchments. He can then make the recommendation to the PCF leader; and then he works with the PCF leader in pioneering the cells and growing them. Cell Visitations The PCU leader is directly responsible for visiting his cells. While the PCF leader maybe visiting other cells in another PCU, the PCU leader must visit the cells under his PCU for the same purposes listed under the responsibilities of the PCF leader. Reporting and Feedback are also key responsibilities of the PCU leader. If the PCU leader carries out his role effectively, the PCF leader will not have any challenges putting his report together. The PCU leader must have his personal copy of the cell register which is the main record keeping and reporting tool of the Cell Ministry. He works with the PCF leader to ensure that all his cell leaders also get their copies. He must then go further to ensure that the registers are properly filled and submitted promptly after each weeks cell meeting. Though he may not make comments in the cell register except duly approved by the Pastor and the coordinating office, he can go through the cell registers and ensure that all his cell leaders carry out whatever instructions have been given from the coordinating office or the PCF leader. Follow up and Visitation The PCU leader is also vitally involved in follow up and visitations. He should follow up and visit his cell leaders and members and encourage them in the things of God. [More information in the book Follow up Dynamics] Follow up is a vital part of the cell system. It involves the conversation, the maturing and the multiplication of the fruit of evangelism. Colossians 1:28 must ever be our two-fold commission; we proclaim him, admonishing [that is evangelism] and teaching everyone with all wisdom [follow up] so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. The early Christians were not only concerned with the winning of the lost, but also with their establishment in the faith, attachment to local fellowships [i.e. cell systems] and spiritual growth.

Why Do We Follow Up?

We follow up a new convert in order that God may be glorified, as Christ is being formed in him, uniting him in the local body of believers and eventually reaching to others through him. Our aim in follow up should always be not merely to win souls to Christ, but also to train those who will go out and win others. We believe of course that those whom God saves, God is well able to keep [Jude 1:24] yet we see in the book of Acts how the Apostle Paul nevertheless showed deep concern for those who had come to Christ through his ministry, and felt a personal responsibility for them. Your responsibility should include visiting both the new and the old members. Everybody on earth needs attention. They want to be recognized, they want to be loved. Some people may never have had somebody come to spend some time with them in their homes. A brother once came to church for the first time and met a sister. The sister told him she would see him the following day at a particular time and he went home. The man did not expect her to visit because he felt it was just one of those empty promises. Lo and behold, as he was just about to take a nap, he heard a knock on his door and indeed it was the sister. He was overwhelmed that someone could spare the time just to see him. He felt cared for and is not committed in church. In fact, he is a Chapter Pastor in this ministry. So you see follow up is important.

Chapter Four

The Pastoral Care Fellowship Structure and Meetings

Although the Pastoral Care Fellowship [PCF] has Pastoral Care Units [PCUs] under it, it requires some other kind of officials to function in various capacities. They could be called the PCF executives. This is necessary for the smooth organization of activities and information dissemination within the PCF. Every functional PCF should have the following officials: 1. i. PCF leader responsibilities outlined in Chapter 2 2. ii. Assistant PCF leader [variable]- assists the PCF leader in his responsibilities 3. iii. PCU leaders responsibilities outlined in Chapter 3 4. iv. Secretary keeps all administrative records of the PCF, minutes of PCF meetings, sends out notices and information to the PCF members, and prepares agendas for meetings. v. Follow up Coordinator vi. Financial Secretary vii. Welfare officer Other suggested officials include: viii. Programs and publicity director 1. ix. Special duties coordinators this person carries out any special duties assigned by the PCF leader. 2. x. Music director coordinates musical activities and special presentation at PCF meeting and other events. These offices are to enhance organization with the PCF and enable smooth administrative running. They are useful for information dissemination within the PCF and in reporting to the pastorate. The primary assignment of the PCF leader remains leading in every of activity in the PCF. When a PCF leader translates to become an administrator only, the growth of the PCF ends. In the PCF structure, we have the secretary, whose duty is to handle the administrative aspect of the work, the PCF leader can then act as an overseer over all the administrative recordings. A PCU may replicate these offices within the PCU for a proper relationship with the PCF. But just like the PCF leader, the PCU leader must not forget what his primary responsibilities are.

Pastoral Care Fellowship meetings

Cell meetings The cells meet every week and there are different kinds of meeting pattern for the cells [see the Cell ministry manual for more details] PCU meetings It is recommended that all the cells in a PCU meet together during the fellowship meeting of the first month in a quarter. [For example January March makes the first quarter of a year]. Fellowship meeting holds the fourth week of every month, it means that the PCU meeting should hold the fourth week of the month in January; the next one will be the fourth week of April. It is called a PCU general meeting. PCF meetings It is recommended that the PCF general meeting hold once a quarter and that would be at the end of each quarter. The PCF general meetings could be a special outreach program to the unsaved or

it could be a special in-reach to members of the church or the PCF members who are not yet committed. All meetings being organized within the PCF must be properly planned and organized. Here are some key points to note in organizing a successful PCF meeting. 1. i. Get a good venue 2. ii. Clean the venue up, make sure it is nicely arranged with enough chairs, there should be distinct altar area and the place should have a good aroma 3. iii. Get good and functional sound equipment. Ensure that it is well tested ahead of time 4. iv. Also make plans for alternative power supply. Have a good and well-tested generator on standby v. Put up a beautiful stand for our ministry materials [books & tapes] and have it properly manned vi. Ensure you always have copies of First timers cards, New converts cards and copies of Now that you are Born Again for those who gave their lives to Christ.
Chapter Five

Cell Leadership Structure

1. Bible Study Class Teacher

The primary target for every Bible Study class teacher for each week is to bring at least 1 new convert to the cell thereby bringing a total of 4 souls in a month. At the end of 3 months the bible study class teacher who would have brought a total of at least 12 souls and automatically becomes an assistant cell leader.

Assistant Cell Leader

The assistant cell leader is expected to bring a minimum of 2 first timers to the cell each week and by the end of the month a total of 8 people and 32 at the end of the quarter. By doing this, the cell grows and more members are added to the cell and the cell can then split with the assistant cell leader starting up another cell in the PCF.

3. Cell Leader

The cell leader has the primary responsibility of ensuring that souls won into the cell are discipled. The cell leader is expected to communicate effectively to every member the importance of soul winning and he is also expected to raise a minimum of two assistant cell leaders and become a PCU leader if he pioneers up to three cells. The cell leader is expected to bring at least four souls to the cell each week.

PCU Leader

A cell that has produced 3 cells becomes a Pastoral Care Unit. The PCU leader is expected to monitor and coordinate the activities of the cells under his PCU [visiting a cell at least once each month] and gives feedback on the cells activities to the PCF leader. The PCU leader is also expected to run a cell as well as monitor the other cells in his PCU.

5. Pastoral Care Fellowship Leader

The PCF leader oversees the overall activities of the PCF as a body and all other leaders are under his authority. The PCF leader should ensure that all the cells meet and also has the responsibility of pioneering at least a minimum of one PCF by the end of the year.

Cell Growth and Development

Successful cell leadership can be done effectively using some of the following:

1. Personal Evangelism

The cell leader and the cell officials should consistently be involved in soul winning. Each cell leader and the executives should meet during the week days, minimum of 3 times e.g. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays before their cell meetings for follow up and evangelism. Jesus said, And he said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature [Mark 16:15]. He also said, As my father has sent me, so send I you [1st John 20:21]. Jesus gave us authority and the responsibility to take gospel to every creature. As a leader, it is our responsibility to be strategic in planning the soul winning campaign and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Schedule specific days for evangelism along with useful materials e.g. tracts, church and cell invitation cards. In doing this, the Holy Spirit will order your steps to come in contact with people in your catchment and they will listen to you. James 5:17

Proper Record Keeping And Submission of Reports

Habakkuk 2:2 write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he that reads it. Every cell leader must adopt the habit of submitting his/her report back to the PCF leader or the cell ministry coordinator for easy retrieval of information. By doing this, you are able to appraise yourself and establish where you are at any point in time.

3. Prayer

Every cell leaders should be prayerful and should always remember the 5 Ps Prayerful Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Your members should hear and see you pray. Prayer is an invisible force. It cannot be seen with the optical eyes; in the place of prayer you make what you have spoken to become a reality. Isaiah 55:8:13. Prayer propels you to the next and higher level and the will of God concerning your life is enforced. As a leader you should spend quality time fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. Every cell leader should have a prayer chain time during the week when all the members of the cell can pray at different times in their various homes.

Publicity of Church and Ministry programs

The cell is responsible for publicizing the church and ministry programs at the grass roots. Once an announcement is made, the cell leader ought to swing to immediate action in catchment. The church and the ministry largely depend on the cell to take information about our programs to the grass roots. All the members must therefore be mobilized for personal invitations through one on one contact and awareness through street and neighborhood storms. The cell leader must take this very seriously every time the occasion arises. He should also understand that his feedback to the mother church on responses of the invitees is of utmost importance.

Chapter Six

Organizing Exciting Cell Meetings

The cells have different types of meetings to help accomplish the definite aim of the cell; the weekly meetings are structured in the following manner: Week 1 Praying and planning meeting Week 2 Bible study meeting Week 3 Outreach meeting Week 4 Fellowship meeting

Prayer and Planning Meeting

The prayer and planning meeting is scheduled for the first meeting of the month to enable the cell pray fervently and plan effectively towards the forth coming outreach meeting for the month. The cell can pray toward: 1. i. The members involvement 2. ii. The invitees 3. iii. The availability of venue 4. iv. Adequate resource materials v. Lives to be blessed on that day vi. Other prayer points After the prayer session, the next thing to do is to plan towards the outreach meeting. The planning section is not meant to be done by only the cell leader but the members suggestions should be welcomed. Under the planning section, the following should be put into consideration; Street storm Sound Time of meeting Venue of the meeting Ministry materials to be used [Rhapsody of Realities, Now that you are Born again etc] Refreshments [drinks, snacks] First timers card Decoration of the venue Dress code [choir, usher etc]

Bible Study Meeting

The bible study meeting is very important in the cell system. The cells are expected to have a minimum of 2 bible study class teachers that will handle the meeting after a brief introduction from the cell leader of the group. For every bible study, cell meeting is expected to divide into their various bible study groups to listen to the study of the word of God. The bible study class teacher is expected to have completed Foundation School before he can be made a teacher. He studies the cell outline for that week given to him by the cell leader and communicates it back to the cell during the study class. After the meeting, the cell leader gathers the cell members back and rounds up the meeting with questions and answers. The cell leader is also meant to encourage the members to come along with the invites for the outreach meeting the next week.

Outreach Meeting
The outreach meeting is the third meeting for the month. All the invitees should have been contacted before the meeting via s.m.s, letters of reminder to the meeting and bringing the members one on one to the meeting venue. The cell leader should be sure that the venue for the program has been paid for a week or two before the meeting so as to avoid excuse of venue not available. Technical equipments should also be checked before the day to avoid any disruptions from sound or any other area. During the outreach meeting, the cells are expected to have their highest attendance since a lot of people have been invited to the program. The assistant cell leader and the other executives are meant to act as counselors when the first timers are being recognized. They are also meant to assist the invitees in filling of the outreach cards and offer any other assistance necessary by doing this; they are able to guide them in filling the necessary information adequately on the card. After the outreach meeting has been conducted, the cell leader is meant to encourage all the first timers and new converts to come to church the next Sunday by making transportation plans .e.g. bus to bring the members to church on Sunday.

Fellowship Meeting
The fellowship meeting has been scheduled by the ministry for the last meeting of the month. During the fellowship meeting, the members birthday that falls within that month will be celebrated alongside the souls that were added in that month. Questions and answers are also allowed along with suggestions on how to move the cell forward and make the cell system function more effectively. The cell leader is meant to make the members see into the next month and make them understand that better results can be achieved.

How to Prepare for a Successful Cell Outreach Meeting

The outreach meeting is designed for soul winning. Each member of the cell should see this meeting as an opportunity to heal the sick and get people saved. Encourage your cell members to invite their friends, colleagues and neighbors and also show them how to do so practically. When preparing for your outreach meeting you should bear in mind that the Great Commission is for us to spread the gospel. During the meeting, give new members who just joined the cell and are attending church the opportunity to share their testimonies so they can inspire others. Let those people who have not been attending church services know the importance of coming to church. Adequate plans should be in place to get the basic requirements listed below; List of Basic requirements for a Successful Outreach Meeting 1. i. Invitation cards with response slips [to be in use from the prayer and planning meeting] 2. ii. Small generator set, power stabilizer, surge protector 3. iii. PA System [microphones, speakers, amplifier etc] good lightings and cables 4. iv. Now that you are Born again v. Keeping your Healing books

vi. Rhapsody of Realities [for first timers and new converts]. You can get some of your members to sponsor this. Note that you dont need to pay for all these things; they can be sourced for from within the cell members. Below is an overview of the daily activities listed out for the preparation of a successful cell outreach meeting. The cell leader is expected to monitor these activities before the next cell meeting; a meeting should also be scheduled for program Committee members to pray and also give updates on tasks assigned; this should hold before the bible study meeting day.

Week 1: Days 1 7

The cell leader should write out a list of activities / tasks and assign to committed cell executives/ members this should be done before the prayer and planning meeting day]. The task should cover publicity, venue, rentals, technical, financing etc. Communicate clearly to the individuals assigned Draw up a budget for the program and raise funds Set up a prayer chain for the outreach program: every one must be involved with praying Spend time to pray and fast concerning the Outreach meeting.

Week 2: Days 8 14
Plans concerning all aspects of the Outreach Program should be concluded in this i.e. The venue should be booked and paid for All members should be fully aware and also assigned specific roles for the program All members should daily bring back the response slips The leader/ planning committee members should meet at least thrice or four times in this week [after Sunday and Wednesday services, cell meeting and Saturday prayer meeting to pray over the response slips collected Plan a fantastic decoration for the venue. Create a sense of occasion with the decoration. Let the invitees know from the appearance of the place that it is a Big Event Train the officials properly The cell leader should confirm that all the basic requirements listed above have been acquired or booked for beforehand Get updates on publicity, ensuring every member is vitally involved Spend time to pray individually every day of this week concerning the Outreach meeting organization, invitees, equipment, weather, ministrations, attendance etc The cell leader should ensure he meets with the program committee members at the venue designed for the outreach program to finalize all plans. Review all the plans made to make sure they have been executed Ensure that all required payments have been made The cell leader should confirm that all the basic requirements are booked for and paid for as required Get updates on publicity to ensure that every member is vitally involved Spend time to pray individually every day of this week concerning the Outreach meeting organization, invitees, equipment, weather, ministrations, attendance etc Decorate the venue on the day of the program. Create a sense of occasion with the decoration pattern. Let the invitees know from the appearance of the place that it is a Big Event Coordinate all officials properly The cell leader should ensure that all the requirements are in the venue and also that setting up is done on time

The cell leader should ensure he and the program committee members arrives the venue early and start praying.

Things to look out for in Measuring the Success of your Cells

How many people attended the cell meeting? Objective: to measure the soul winning activity and follow up capacity of the cell How many first timers attended the cell meeting? Objective: to measure the soul winning capacity of the cell How many people got saved during the cell meeting? i.e. new converts Objective: to measure the soul winning capacity and impact of the message How many people got filled with the Holy Ghost? Objective: to measure the impact of the word i.e. spiritual impartation and spiritual maturity of the cell How many returning first timers and new converts from the previous meeting are present this week Objective: to measure the retention capacity of the cell; ability to follow up How much was collected as cell offering and what was the average amount per member Objective: to measure the prosperity of the brethren and also the mental prosperity of the members Did anyone have a testimony to share? Objective: to measure the authenticity of the message in the lives of the members Was the cell venue well decorated? Objective: to ascertain the ambience off the cell venues Do your cells have functional cell executives i.e. assistant cell leader, cell secretary, follow up coordinator, bible study class teacher etc? Objective: to measure discipleship capacity of the cell leader Do you submit your cell reports latest on Monday prayer meeting Objective: to effectively monitor your progress report by the PFCC and you Pastor Do you, your cell executives and cell members partner each month as well as giving to church projects? Objective: to monitor the level of commitment of the brethren and prosperity mentality of the brethren Do you, your cell executives and cell members purchase and make use of our ministry material in your daily walk with God Objective: to monitor the level of spiritual maturity of the brethren

All PCF leaders should collect first timers card from the first timers ministry immediately after service All PCF leaders should ensure all cell leaders come to church with at least 2 first timers every service day Ensure all the cell leaders visit their members and give you an update on their activities. Ask the cell leaders to get a visitation notebook for this purpose Proper mobilization of all members in the PCF to attend Sunday and Wednesday service Important things to note: All cell leaders are expected to have at least 10 cell members present in church every service day Have adequate transportation plan in place Proper mobilization of all first timers, new converts and those not yet baptized in the PCF to attend the baptismal classes and get baptized

Ensure the cell leaders go on evangelism at least once this week and the names of souls won submitted to the PCF leader and PFCC Ensure the cell leaders are fully prepared for the fellowship meeting in terms of publicity, venue and organization Follow up of all first timers to church through the cells Important things to note: All PCF leaders should collect first timers cards from the first timers ministry immediately after service All PCF leaders should ensure all cell leaders come to church with at least 1 first timer every service day Have adequate transportation plans in place Proper mobilization of all members in the PCF to attend the Group All Night Service every last Friday of the month Important things to note: Give target to all cell leaders regards bringing their members to the All Night and work with them to ensure they meet the target Have adequate transportation plans in place
