TOO YOUNG?
Dear Samantha,
I'm 17 years old and I have a real problem. This friend of the family was over in Vietnam for 10 months and was
wounded in the leg. He is still in the hospital and will be coming home for a or so after he is released from the hospital. He is 21 years old and I have known him almost as long as I can remember. I think of him as a brother really i guess. Well, anyway, I started writing him while he was in the service and especially while he is in the hospital to keep his morale up. For a while they thought they would have to amputate his left
month
leg.
He has been writing me once a week and sometimes twice a week ever since
he was hospitalized. Now that he will soon be home on leave he wants to date me. My problem is, that I'm 17 and he is 21, also my parents are not at all keen on me dating older fellows. They say it can only lead to trouble. It was my mother who encouraged me to write him while he was so sick and downhearted. They haven't made any comments pro or con on whether they feel I should date him when he is home. What should I do? Right now I think of him as a brother, but I think he has romantic feelings towards me since he was wounded and I have been so faithful writing to him and sending him cookies and magazines. I am so very
tween a 17 year old guy and a 21 year you could have far more problems with the 17 year old fellow. It is legal for the older one to drink, that is about it and he will be, but not necessarily so more mature. Go out with this fellow a couple times. You will know whether you could like him romantically or not. I'm sure he respects you a great deal and will not think of taking advantage of you. You have been very kind to him and faithful. It could well be that you were the only girl besides his mother who wrote faithfully and suddenly he realizes that you are no longer the girl next door or the sister type. I wish you luck, don't let him down by refusing to go out with him. Remember dates don't always lead to romantic entanglements. They can be a lot of fun and friendship involved. He still has time to serve most likely and you will continue to correspond with him. Write me in about 8 months or a year and let me know what has developed, but above all, don't hurt this brave young man. Let him get on his feet

with your parents. A 17 year old boy could be too much for you to handle. He is driving a car and most likely is a senior in high school. Don't be in a hurry to date older boys or to grow up. Stick in your own age bracket for a while. I'm proud that you refused, but then on the other hand, your mother would have most likely asked you to call him back if you had

Twiggy commented, "I hate animal books and animal films because even if they are happy, there's always some sad bit in them."
Perhaps, herein, lies the secret of Twiggy's rise to fame. She openly remarks that without Justin she would not be where she is today. It was Justin who got her started in modeling. She clings to
him when the crowds start gathering and when they are with only a few people or if there are photographers taking shots of her, she must constantly go over to Justin and have him reassure her. There

Change in bowel or bladder habits. 5. Hoarseness or cough. 6. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing. 7. Change in a wart or mole.
