Education system is expected to enable a person to be self sufficient, to inculcate the virtues of selfconfidence, self-respect and character in the

most significant phase which gives shape to career and life. Often it is felt that the present education system is lacking on these fronts due to number of reasons. The nation is celebrating Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shatabdi. Swamiji had strong views about education, character building and issues related to youth as he believed that the much needed emancipation of the subdued Indian society can come through only by strengthening the youth power of the nation. The teachings of Swamiji have become more relevant in the present times, when the youth has lost direction. His teachings can also act as a savior for the nation in this period of ethical and moral bankruptcy that we witness in almost all spheres of life. His thoughts can be instrumental in tackling real issues confronting the nation and society. The respect, popularity and global appeal that Swamiji commands make him one of the few inspiring personalities, whom the youth can look forward to. According to Swamiji, Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man. To take his teaching and philosophy to the youth in todays context is a challenging task. It is perhaps incumbent on the intellectual community to build the ways and means of effective deliverance of Swamijis thoughts towards the society in general and the youth in particular. The academic community can reach out to the youth by devising curricular teaching modes and methods for such effective deliverance. Papers are invited from teachers, teacher educators, academic administrators, budding scholars and members of other sections of society on any of the following themes or topics of the seminar: 1. Integrating and incorporating the concept of Education as perceived by Swami Vivekananda in contemporary education system

2. Integrating and incorporating Swami Vivekanandas philosophy and thoughts in Social Sciences, Language, Literature, Value Education, Character building, Governance and other relevant subjects in contemporary education system 3. Devising ways and means including Teaching Methodologies for Integration and Incorporation of Swami Vivekanandas philosophy and thoughts in educational courses as a part of curriculum.
