Parish Pastoral Assembly


Its now just seven weeks unl our Parish Pastoral
Council, which will be convened on Sunday 10th
November. Over the coming month the Parish
Pastoral Council will be nalising the dra Parish
Pastoral Plan for the coming two years, and I would
encourage anyone who would like a specic issue
considered for inclusion in that Plan to make their
submissionbythebeginningofOctober.

The Pastoral Assembly will also see the elecon of


new members of the Parish Pastoral Council. I would
also encourage those who might like to submit their
names for the ballot to do so before Friday 18th
October (see the item on page 4 for more
informaon).

Lastly, can I encourage the enre community to pray


fortheoutcomeoftheParishPastoralAssembly,that
it might be a me of clarity of vision as we go about
the task of proclaiming the Good News of the
Kingdomthatisourprimarytask.

new musical seng for use at our celebraons of
Mass. The introducon of this new seng will
also provide a second opon for our Parish

Entled the Mass of St Francis, this is the Mass

celebraons, and this is why we have chosen to
add this seng to our Parish repertoire.

So that we might receive Communion in a t and
properway,pleasebeawareofthefollowing:

When we process forward to receive Communion,


we have been asked by the Australian Bishops to
adopt a common and unied gesture of reverence
before doing so. In Australia that gesture is a bow
of the head and shoulders (GIRM, 160). Any other
formofreverence,includingagenuecon,should
thereforebeavoided.
Communion by selfinncon (selfdipping) is
neverpermied,sincewereceiveCommunionand
never take Communion. Please refrain from this
inappropriateacon.
We regret that we do not have the physical
facilies to oer communion while kneeling, and
respecully ask you to refrain from kneeling to
receive Communion while part of the procession,
since this is contrary to the nature of the
Communion procession itself. Your cooperaon in
honouring this request is very much appreciated,
andwethankyouforyourconsideraon.

the rst reading in order that we might meditate
onwhatwehaveheard;

meditateonwhatwehaveheard;and
5. DuringtheLiturgyoftheWord,attheconclusionof
the homily in order that we might meditate on
whatwehaveheard.
