1. For Verbal, Manhattan is not just an option, it is mandatory (volume 7 and 8). The strategies and practice problems given there, if followed correctly, will bring 150+ in most cases Apart from solving, it is always important to analyze your mistakes....and not repeating them in the exam hall. Analyzing your mistakes will teach you how to think and solve......that's all you need eventually. 2. If you want to read less words..just cover the high-frequency word-lists of Barrons (333 words), Kaplan (400 words), Princeton and Manhattan. If your previous vocabulary level is average, covering these will give you almost everything you need for TC and SE. Excluding repeats, these word-lists will give a total of around 1100 words. 3. One strategy is useful for Verbal. As everyone learns a minimum amount of words, one should first finish all the TC and SE questions as quickly as possible. Then, you should finish passages that include 1 question. After that, you should move for passages with 2 questions. Finally, you should answer long passages, which include 3-4 questions. This gives few advantages- you may get more time for long passage. Even if you get less time, you may answer 1-2 questions correctly. But if you are somehow stuck with long passage at the beginning, you may miss a number of SE and TC, apart from short passages, all of which bring marks more easily and reliably. 4. Eliminating the incorrect answer choices, and thus, reaching the correct choice- is the most effective technique for TC and SE. However, you have to be good and fast with that 5. For Quant, a very good basic in maths is all you need. It's not about solving thousands of problems. But, it is true that being able to solve difficult problems by yourself will surely make the exam an easy one for you. 6. You must learn to skip questions, both for Quant and Verbal. You cannot get stuck with a question- that is the first rule. However, if you think that you have passed enough time with a question, you better answer it with your preferable answer choice, and move on. Otherwise, you should skip such questions at first glance, so that you have time to come back later. 7. If you prefer an answer choice to others, you better give it right then. It is not about whether you are correct with it or not...it's about the simple fact that this is the answer you would have given if you would have answered the question Beat the time, but don't look at it frequently Rather, look at it after finishing every five questions, so that you know when to speed up GRE is always a race against time. 8. Give your best while the exam is going on. Instead of being afraid, do as much brainstorming as possible. It's not about being better than others, it's about transcending yourself Use the breaks very carefully to breathe deeply, and to restart your brain and mind. GRE is more concerned with performance in the exam hall than with your preparation
