Sta a noi saperla cogliere.

Tazas Project
he Tazas Project is a per manent laborator y of research which explores several areas of visual art: graphic and digital drawing, screen printing, interactive installations, new technologies. The project star ted in 2009 with the publication of Tazas, a book in which the three founders, Oze Tajada (illustrator) from Spain, Benjamin Stoop (typographer) and Guillaume Beinat (graphic designer), both from France, propose testing the writing through the form. These three creatives star ted using the technique of the cadavre exquis", the method invented in 1925 in Paris by the Surrealists to compose collective creations of texts and drawings. It takes name from the first sentence obtained using it: Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau (The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine). Tazas is not just a book of pictures, it looks like a canvas without frames that, thanks to the multidirectional structure of its composition, appeals to the visual culture of each reader, who can compose his own reading. After this first experiment, the group keeps being a platform in which each ar tist brings his personal style to ser ve a common project. So, their research broadened its horizons including the use of digital technology with the collaboration of two ar tists: Jeremy Dalhuvenne and Alexandre Sun.

l progetto Tazas festeggia 4 anni.
he Tazas project celebrates 4 years. At the beginning there is the desire to share a personal graphic style in screen printing creations: books, posters, postcards in limited editions. The first productions make use of the technique of the cadavre exquis". Moving from festivals to exhibitions, the protean identity of the group becomes apparent with the animated works by Jeremy Dalhuvenne (motion designer). Today the ar tist Alexandre Sune extends with digital supports the creations of the group. This variety in research and experimentation brings the project along two axes. The first is the graphic production, which allows Tazas to present its creations in the libraries of several European and international museums, from New York to Tokyo. This growing notoriety allows the collective to have a borrowing capacity to invest in his researches. The second line of action is reflected in the preparation of exhibitions in private galleries or workshops in the French ar t schools, where Tazas wonders about the transversality that exists between the paper creations and its digital extension. The creation of interactive devices using Kinect, QR codes or augmented reality, allowed the group to win the European prize Culture Numrique for the achievement of a permanent digital work at the museum Petiet in Limoux.

riday, June 22 in Piazza Garraffello (Vucciria), Skip La Comune has presented the first edition of Smoda, a show event on the street fashion, a walkway on which designers can move away from conventional schemes and give free rein to creativity. For years this group of young people moves for promoting the creativity of fashion in its various forms. It is peculiar the free per formance of the par ticipants, each of which operates in a spirit of collaboration and sharing. In addition, designers are enticed to the use of recycled materials, to show how to make ar t by retrieving objects that would other wise be discarded. The show was hosted in one of the most charming squares of our city, representative of the heterogeneity that characterizes Palermo: open-air market by day, place of meeting and socializing by night. The evening was divided into four moments interspersed with musical per formances by DjKoma and projections ? ? by Sergio Inglese and Rosario Puglia. Each of the ten selected stylists presented four designs, each one representing a theme: Middle Ages, geometric shapes, Cyborg, Smoda. The prize of 500 euro was won by Mar tina Baldo who has achieved the highest score in all categories. The soundtrack was organized by the DjFef Southklan, and the lights by Mario Villano. It was an exciting evening with the help of over 100 people who have made Piazza Garraffello a movie set and Palermo an open city. Open to fashion, culture and entertainment.

hat does turns a simple fashion show in a big event? The clothes of course, the music of course, the models, the location. Smoda has combined all of this. Skip La Comune, which in 2007 created a similar event, Antimoda, returns this year by choosing as location a par ticular place that fully reflects the parade: the famous market of Palermo, Vucciria, which at night becomes one of the most popular meeting places frequented by people of ever y age, nationality, and social class. This show has not only promoted the ar tistic expression of young designers, but especially the use of waste materials through recycling, demonstrating that you can do fashion without spending absurd capital and without affecting our planet. We often demonize the fashion, but in general it is not a thing in itself to be wrong or harmful, but the use we do of it. Smoda has shown that what we throw away can often be transformed into something new and even more beautiful than before, that the end of something is always the beginning of another, that an environment friendly future is possible.
