Unveiling of the Bust of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in Parliament Library A function to unveil the Bust of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru will be held adjacent to Members Reading Room, Parliament Library Building on Monday, 5th May, 2008 at 1630 hrs. Honble Speaker, Lok Sabha will unveil the bust of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Members are cordially invited to attend the function. _____ No. 4804 Works and General Branch-I Birth Anniversary of Pandit Motilal Nehru On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Pandit Motilal Nehru, a function will be held on Tuesday, the 6th May, 2008 at 1030 hours in the Central Hall, Parliament House, New Delhi where the portrait of Pandit Motilal Nehru is put up. Dignitaries and Members of Parliament will pay floral tributes on the occasion. Members are cordially invited to join. _____

Lecture Series for Members of Parliament: Talk by Shri Inder Malhotra on Parliament and the Media - A Reporters Perspective and release by Honble Speaker of books titled Madhu Limaye in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume and Constitution Amendment in India. As part of the Lecture Series for Members of Parliament, the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST), Lok Sabha Secretariat, is organizing a Lecture on Parliament and the Media - A Reporters Perspective by Shri Inder Malhotra, on Tuesday, 6 May 2008, at 9.00 AM in the BPST Lecture Hall, First Floor, Parliament Library Building. Honble Speaker will also release two books brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, viz. Madhu Limaye in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume and Constitution Amendment in India, during the function. Honble Members are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the function and reach the venue at 8.30 A.M. for breakfast. Transportation facility will resume from 8.00 A.M. onwards for Honourable Members of Parliament on 6 May 2008 to bring them from their residences to the Parliament Library Building. Extension of time to Standing Committee on Home Affairs for presentation of Report on the Private Detective Agencies (Regulation) Bill, 2007. The Chairman, Rajya Sabha has granted extension of time upto the last week of the Winter Session (2008) of Parliament for presentation of report on the Private Detective Agencies (Regulation) Bill, 2007, by the Standing Committee on Home Affairs.

Members to speak from their own seats while addressing the House Kind attention of the members is invited to the provisions of rules 349 (vii) and 351 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, which, inter alia provide that whilst the House is sitting, a member shall keep to his usual seat and shall speak from his place while addressing the House. 2. The matter relating to the observance of these rules by members while speaking in

the House was discussed in the Business Advisory Committee meeting held on 9.3.2005, wherein, Honble Speaker directed that members, except the Ministers, shall speak from their own seats unless permitted by the Chair to speak from another seat. Kind co-operation of the members is solicited. _____
