Pollution in El Salvador
In El Salvador it can be seen that some of the causes of pollution are the same people, day to day nature is being destroyed either consciously or unconsciously. With the passage of time in the country remains victim nature of humanity in the country is very noticeable pollution, one of many serious examples landfills in the streets of downtown San Salvador but this is because so recklessly in each of the inhabitants. As you know nature in all dimensions is a symbol of purity, perfection and beauty, and that's why it is our duty to take care but this problem will become more serious than it already is.Pollution is one of the largest and most dangerous problems that exist on the planet, destroying the land and its original nature, this ends up destroying ourselves. There are other meanings: Pollution is all human action, natural, permanent and continuous altering environmental conditions causing negative effects on health, ecosystems and living beings. Pollution is called the transmission and dissemination of smoke or toxic gases media like air and water, as well as the presence of dust and microbial agents from the waste from human activity. Types of contamination The most important types of pollution are affecting the basic natural resources are: air, water, soil Several types of pollution that depend on certain factors which affect distinctly each environment. These are the some of the most important: Water Pollution.: The water is contaminated with waste expelled into lakes, rivers, and seas. In San Salvador 145 Empressas are the only leading control their waste before expelling. As you know water pollution takes dig from the moment you start to throw trash in places not due and that's when pollution begins to act when these reciduos fall rains accumulate those waters resulting in a shift in the color of water when waste is saturated. Then they begin to generate many consequences here I can mention the most important ones. It is the scarcity of water as contaminated water so that it is almost impossible to bring clean water to communities and municipalities. Following this is the marine lives as fish and crustaceans indicates that die by the state of water also causes problems with tourism in the country. But more alarming is that many people are suffering from gastrointestinal diseases, fungal problems and many skin diseases have to take into account the effect that this is going to generate in the future.

TYPES OF WTER POLLUTION & SOIL POLLUTION

Water pollution can result in: Natural contamination (not generated by man) Pollution artificial (created by man) Natural Pollution: The contamination began before there were animals and human beings on the face of the earth and continues after its appearance. Much water is currently considered safe (ie acceptable for consumption of humans, animals and plants) are still polluting by salts and chemicals from soil and volcanic eruptions, with organic materials and soil components (sand, clay, etc..) Carried by water currents produced by heavy rainfall or deposited directly by the winds. Artificial Pollution: With the advent of man, land and natural pollution has been compounded by artificial contamination. After the man made his appearance on the face of the earth, and because there were no large settlements, such pollution, it was definitely noticeable. These settlements (towns, cities, etc..) For convenience settled near springs, rivers, lakes into providing water for drinking and other uses either environmental hygiene and sanitation and irrigation of their crops. Soils also are one of the victims of pollution because they are vulnerable to erosion from the use of pesticides, pesticides and trash burning or agricultural practices. At home you can also see that the floors if they suffer from pollution because there are piles of garbage all sides there is a slippage in the trash too many factors from soil contamination is also affected with landfills as this soil type and can not be used as fertile ground to grow because it is so saturated with toxic bacteria and because that is littered by tons even that there are people who could take as mulch if pro could do would not be right for the soil type. This type of pollution is air league since according to what is pulled down these unbearable odors that are transmitted to humans through the air and that's when affects humans and has consequences.

AIR POLLUTION & CASE RECORD COMPANIES

Polluted air breathing becomes harmful when odors, toxic gases, etc.. Pollution with smoke is generated by factories and automobiles, the moisture condenses with cinders particles that are in the air and generates a drizzle negruzcura. These conditions worsen when there is no wind and the city is surrounded by mountains of containing gases from cars and factories. In the country this problem is given daily also burning trash caused by mankind ignorantly, also occurs with the use of chemical sprays, pesticides. This comes and generates its consequences with the general population, causing respiratory and lung diseases, also by air pollution has caused the breakdown of the layer of the ozone layer has to be taken into account that we are generating a destre on planet earth through our inconcina to the importance of nature to living things and especially the air. Trash burning also affects the air as the smoke that rises is very uncomfortable to breathe, burning rubber or other objects also, n is also affected communities where we live when the truck toilet not spend the day rightful garbage starts to disintegrate begin odors and we have to endure to the point that it becomes hostile to pregnant breathing. Part of El Salvador was affected by lead contamination. SAN JUAN OPICO, El Salvador. The mushroom causes pollution points to the battery company Recod of El Salvador. Marisol Hernandez decided to emigrate for three turbulent years of the capital to the passivity of Sitio del Nio, west of San Salvador. She and her husband went in search of a broad field where their children could grow freely and in a better environment than the capital. But that might not be possible since a year after the trouble started for the family, as the couple's daughter Brenda least Janet age of two years old began to suffer from headaches, body and nightmares at night his mother I did not find answer to all these discomforts of his daughter and did not understand what was happening. Until one day she decided to take her to the doctor in order to detect what was happening to her little girl she made some blood tests to see if it was blood lead. When she had the results realized that if that was what was affecting small t6ansolo two years of life. All this was due to lack of corporate responsibility batteries RECORD. Many in the sector were affected, but seeing that the situation was serious pus health ministry had to take tough decisions the company had to be chipped, but that did not stop people had problems with the company that did not want responsible to model damage they had caused. At the end of the case the company took over and helped damage the affected families by giving them compensation money so they could conduct tests and treatments for their children.

CERRO BLANCO PROJECT

The Cerro Blanco mining project , located in Asuncion Mita , Jutiapa , Guatemala , produce acid drainage poses a threat of contamination to the lake Gija in El Salvador . The long-term effects also affect the Lempa River , since the lake is one of its main tributaries. The mine has not started out heavy metals, because hot springs found being extracted and , with this absorption are drying aquifers in the area. In 2007 Guatemala environmentalists authorities granted a permit to the mining company Entre Mares , subsidized by the Canadian company Goldcorp Inc. , to start with the mining project of gold and silver in the Cerro Blanco , in the municipality of Asuncion Mita , in the department of Jutiapa. This authorization was granted without taking into account the environmental impacts that would result in this activity in the country of Guatemala, within the mine because there are hot springs that hinder the work for the extraction of precious metals , forcing miners to suck all this water . According to a study by Dina Lopez, Professor of Geochemistry and Hydrogeology of Ohio University , with support from the Center for Research on Investment and Trade ( CEICOM ) of El Salvador , the extraction of groundwater aquifers are drying area . Moreover, the thermal waters are deposited Osta river at a temperature too high and this affects the lives of the affluent . The miners argue they are going through a cooling process , however , looking at the water flowing through the sources that have been designed into the mine to eject , heat is perceived , and the rocks are covered with an orange substance . This substance , the study of Lopez, is arsenic containing water. Arsenic is a natural element that behaves like a metal and damages the environment. In 2009, Octavio Gasparico, a resident of Asuncion Mita, joined the struggle of Christian Communities in Resistance Against Metallic Mining in Asuncion Mita, to stop this project which, he said, goes against human life. "We are convinced that we want to stop mining projects and if someone has to die in the fight, we are willing to take the risk," said Gasparico. At 61 years old, recognizes that the problem does not affect you directly, but says its social and environmental responsibility urges him to motivate residents around the mine to defend its territory from threats such projects produce miners, which take advantage of weak environmental laws of countries to exploit their riches and pollute natural resources.

CERRO BLANCO PROJECT (PART 2)

The problem of Cerro Blanco mine is also a potential threat to El Salvador , since it is located 18 kilometers from Lake Metapn Gija in the west of the country, according to Alejandro Labrador, communications facilitator National Roundtable against Metallic Mining , the process Gija lake pollution will occur through shared Osta river El Salvador with Guatemala , since there would be deposited all wastes with cyanide and will drag this tributary to Lake Gija . Cyanide is a heavy metal that is used to separate the gold from the rock. This process , according Labrador, known as cyanide leaching and has serious impacts on the environment. Note that this metal is so toxic that a tiny amount could contaminate the entire water body Gija and in the leaching process Cerro Blanco mine , more than 300 000 tonnes of cyanide waste will go into the river Osta said Nelly Rivera , outreach Coordinator of the Centre for Research on Investment and Trade ( CEICOM ) . Gija Lake is not only a water resource for the people of Metapan , but also represents a source of livelihood for the communities surrounding the wetland. Rivera estimated that roughly 11 Metapn communities that depend on fishing . " If the lake is contaminated Gija metapanecos would have thousands of those affected would be immediate, but this does not mean that only they are going to be affected , but the whole El Salvador , because Lempa river pollution across the lake " Rivera said . It is noteworthy that with Gija lake pollution also affect birds and all kinds of animals living around the lake and river Osta and thrive on that ecosystem. Ramon Ramirez , a resident of the community of La Barra, located around the lake in Metapn said to be engaged in fishing from 12 years of age and that this activity earn a living for all family members . Each day gets up at 5:00 am and goes to the lake for their daily bread , sometimes accompanying his two sons, but others prefer to go alone. Ramirez is aware that he and his family would be a major hit with the activity of the Cerro Blanco mine . " We have no other source of income , only the lake and agriculture ," Ramirez added . According to Fisher , the river Osta , since the winter of 2011 , deposited harmful substances that have prevented the lake water is clear. This has also led to greater amounts of fish die , and in the case of crops , pests have increased , which generates economic losses that will affect him and his family . The experience , as a fisherman , has shown that before fishing on Lake Gija was much better than now.

SOLUTIONS TO PREVENT POLLUTION

Environmental pollution is reaching such extremes in the world, that man seems determined to destroy the living environment in a suicidal , but while other countries are taking serious measures to prevent and control pollution , in ours there are only isolated actions . To solve the problem of pollution is an urgent need to take some action . Taking into account that if you do not already bring great consequences for the future. Here are some that we can consider : 1. The State must worry about the problem of pollution , giving severe laws , monitoring compliance and sanctioning offenders. The environmental problem is a problem that affects the common good and quality of life, and therefore , can not be left to the free will of the people . The common good is a state responsibility as a representative of the welfare of all citizens. 2. A great responsibility rests with municipal governments , directly responsible for the disposal of garbage and sewage , fleet control , green areas . 3. Citizens must become more aware of the problem , demand respect for the environment and not contribute to its deterioration. We can help in the following ways: a. Do not throw trash and debris in streets , rivers , lakes and seas or anywhere. B. Avoid annoying noises , both at the neighborhood level ( open exhausts , horns , loud music ) as a domestic and commercial level . C. Planting trees and assist in the maintenance of green areas . Avoiding cutting themselves. D. Do not use products containing pollutants, such as CFC ( deodorant spray ) , leaded gasoline , no smoking, burning garbage , etc. . E. If used motor vehicles , regulate combustion engine periodically to avoid the production of toxic gases. 4. It should use less polluting alternatives such as organic fertilizers rather than synthetics ; transform urban waste organic fertilizers, biological pest control , ie combat insect pests with their natural enemies , etc. . 5. Prohibit blind propaganda for insecticides , herbicides and other toxic substances , having to necessarily alert the user about the polluting effects and lethal of them. 6. Educating people through schools and the media (TV , radio , newspapers) on respect for the environment and can become aware . 7. . Teachers also have to educate future generations towards environmental responsibility and help the awareness of pollution damage .
