Who is God? (QWA V1)

Bible Reading: God Shows Moses His Glory on Mt. Sinai.

Read the account in Exodus 33:17-23 and Exodus 34:5-9. Read the story from a Childrens storybook Bible

Discussion Questions:
- Why did God honor Moses request to show him His glory? - Why did God put Moses in a cleft of the rock and put His hand over Moses eyes? - What stood out to you about what God said about Himself when He passed before Moses?

Devotion:
God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He created everything, even you and me! God is Spirit and does not have a body. God is everywhere and in charge of everything. Mankind you, me and all people everywhere - is his most precious creation. He loves you with an everlasting love and cares for you. He is your heavenly Father. He wants to be close to us, more than anything else, and desires for us to follow and obey Him. God is: - All-Glorious - Almighty - All-Knowing - Sovereign - Creator - Lord of the whole universe - Perfect - Holy - Innite - Eternal - Unchanging

Unit Craft/Activity: Attributes/Characteristics of God

Choose an option below and build on it during all the lessons in the God unit. Throughout the unit, discuss the meaning of each attribute in a way that the kids can relate to. Feel free to add attributes that werent discussed in the devotions. (For this lesson, attributes to add could include King, Lord, etc.) Attribute Flip-Book from Ministry-to-Children.com. Write the attribute or characteristic on a notecard using a landscape orientation. The child can add descriptive words or phrases or draw pictures to represent the attribute. When nished, staple together like a ip book and attach to a piece of paper that says God is:. The nished product can go in the Sound Words Notebook. God Page/Poster: Similar to the ip book but more of a collage on notebook paper or cardstock. Print God in the middle and write or paste words, draw pictures, glue items, etc. around it that represent the various characteristics of God. Finished product goes in the Sound Words Notebook. Can also do this on a poster to hang on the wall and take a picture when completed.

Additional Craft and Activity Ideas for This Lesson:

Attributes of God Family Devotions: A bonus lesson for this unit that denes attributes and includes printable attribute cards. God Is Plate: Two plates fastened in middle with brad. Window cut out of bottom of top plate reveals an attribute of God. The attributes are written around a back plate and the window displays a new attribute as the back plate is rotated. Top plate can have God is... written on it. Paper Globe: Who Is God? from Flame Creative Childrens Ministry
