Motorcycles In Church?
If you missed the Sunday morning service on August 25, 2013, you missed out on seeing Harley Davidsons on the stage, and the launch of Life Churchs newest ministry, Life Christian Riders. The first four members of our new ministry were patched in and presented to the congregation and issued an invitation to any motorcycle riders to come fellowship, enjoy a ride and worship the one true king, Jesus Christ.

Those who ride motorcycles share common interests that make them unique people. They share a desire to know the freedom that comes from navigating their bike down the open road. They love the outdoors and the feel of exhilaration that comes from a good ride. They are a special group of people and God loves them. Thats why Im so excited weve launched an HonorBound Motorcycle Ministry here at Life Church. Motorcycles have long been a personal passion and I have a burden for those who ride them. When bikers become believers they make great followers of Christ because of their commitment to a lifestyle, accepting & free spirit, and willingness to follow their passion. But how will they know about Jesus and become followers unless someone tells them?

Presidents Message
Just returned from a Hatteras Island vacation in which I had to come home early because I had developed a new pain from my cancer. I needed a stronger pain prescription and because being out of state it was easier to just come home. Enough said about my problem as its in Gods hands not mine. If you ever wondered how to get a Harley on a stage, this is how? I am very excited about what the HonorBound Motorcycle Ministry has in store for us as a new chapter here at Life Church. Life Christian Riders being new has a few curves to straighten out and one is our chapter patch which is still on the drawing board waiting on the design work to be emailed. This patch will distinguish us as Life Christian Riders from Life Church. There will be a ministry ride event 14th September Ride for the Unborn sponsored by the Family Foundation. Anyone interested in attending meet at the Life Church parking lot at 8:30am so you can ride in together as a group from Life Church. The next big exciting event for the Life Christian Riders is our fellowship ride following the church service on the 15th of Sept. The plan is to ride to Shoneys in Chester for a light lunch so we can fellowship and get to know each other. Its nothing like a bunch of Christian bikers getting together for fun, food and fellowship allowing Christs light to shine through it all. There is also a local ride planned following lunch. These types of rides help build a strong friendship and relationship among fellow bikers not only ministering to one another, but to others as well. There will be other rides and events that will be set up so everyone can attend - even for those who have to work on weekends and others that are retired and like fellowship or ministry during the week. Just keep an eye pealed for upcoming ministry events through one of the following: church bulletin, Life Christian Riders newsletter or EMail.

Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Christ My name is Michael S Dawson. Ive been a member of Life Church for several years now and felt it was time to step up in serving our Lord, and what better way than by using my love for both God and motorcycles.

What is HonorBound? When you look at the definition it means, Under an obligation enforced by the personal integrity of the one obliged. Now, isnt that what we do at church? We give honor to the most high God and we serve the living Christ, through our personal relationship with him and what an honor that is. And our lives must be honorable, an obligation to God, our Father.

In Matthew 28:19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

To teach and preach Gods W ord. By showing our new Honor Bound colors, we can reach a seldom embraced group, the biker community. To create a welcoming, biker friendly church is our goal, and to promote the mission and vision of our church.

This is your chance to get in during the designing stages of a new ministry and help mold this it into what we hope will lead to a fun, welcoming group of fellow believers with one goal in mind, furthering the Word of God and helping Life Church be known as a Biker Friendly Church. Help us design what the patch will look like, create our own shirts, have fellowship rides and look toward larger goals as we grow into the butterfly God plans us to be and to help move this community to where it needs to be..

Reaching Teaching Building Gods Kingdom

Wow, the Life Christian Riders chapter of the HonorBound Motorcycle Ministry has been launched as of August 25th, 2013 and I feel very privileged in being asked to start its legacy alongside my husband, Stuart. Guess you can say it runs in the family as I am the third generation Pentecostal of legacies starting with my grandmother seeing Pentecost hit the Petersburg area and charter member of Petersburg 1st Assembly and my aunt being a charter member of Life Church, formally Colonial Heights Assembly of God. Im excited and looking forward to what God has in store of this outreach ministry and what He has in store for me. Our first Officers Meeting was held August 25th 2013 following our morning worship service to finalize what God had already laid on our hearts. Through prayer and His direction we have fellowship rides and ministry events lined up completing this year and going into May, 2014. We are looking forward in expanding the Life Christian Riders chapter membership of the HBMM and the next patch ceremony. There are at least eight bikers within our congregation who are interested in this ministry and going through the evangelism course suggested by Honor Bound. (You know who you are keep studying!) During the current officers patch ceremony we felt the love and support from our home church and we appreciate it. We are asking for Life Church to keep us in prayer as we Ride for the Son to pursue the purpose of the Honor Bound Motorcycle Ministry and the primary goals: Reaching Teaching Building Gods Kingdom Wanda Fink Secretary Life Christian Riders
