Promotion Criteria MSG 4.00 Pass in both languages Independent Studies B4 or better grade B4 Oral Communications C5 or better grade C5

S3 PLACEMENT CRITERIA
In Secondary Three, students will be placed in one of the three learning clusters.
Different clusters are customized to match their different learning needs and progression.

CENTRE FOR SCHOLASTIC EXCELLENCE (CSE)


Special expectations from students in the Centre for Scholastic Excellence
CSE students are expected to be responsible and accountable for their own learning. They should desire & are able to define their own learning goals and evaluate their progress and achievements.

They will learn how to build knowledge collaboratively and solve real world problems creatively. They will develop a lifelong passion for learning.

CSE SPECIAL PROGRAMMES


Four Special Programmes are available to Sec 3 CSE students:
Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP) Humanities Programme (HP) Language Elective Programme (LEP) Science and Mathematics Talent Programme (SMTP)
Students offering Third Language and/or AEP should NOT opt for a special programme.

Content coverage (2 years)

History of China (From ancient to Qing Dynasty and post revolution) Geography, population studies and education of China Chinese philosophy (Confucian, Taosim and Buddhism)

Contemporary Chinese society and culture (including effects of globalization, internet and pop culture) Political structure of China (including discussions about Special Administrative Regions) Evolution of the Chinese economy and its effect (from communism to free market; Special Economic Zones)
Chinese foreign policy (historic and current)
