6.8.1 Wiring Repair Kit

Usage of Wiring Repair Kit Crimping Tool To connect terminal pins to individual wires. Check point before using : Make sure whether the wire harness terminal is part of the Wiring Repair Kit : Select the proper crimping tools for the terminal being replaced. Caution : Make sure the correct gauge crimping slot for the wire being repaired : If the incorrect gauge-crimping slot is used, the terminal may become deformed and may not fit into the connector.

6.8.1 Wiring Repair Kit

Terminal Remover Tool Flat Tip Type Removal of single locking type male/female terminal. : Removal of front or rear retainer (holder, stopper) : Ensure that the tip of the tool is inserted into the gap between the elastic arm of key and terminal. Double Tip Type For JPT type terminal connector. Tips : After removing the terminal, check for any deformation. If there is, replace it with a new terminal.

6.8.1 Wiring Repair Kit

Terminal Tension Gauge Used for measuring the tension of a female terminal.

Check point before using Select the shaft with the male terminal that is the correct mate for the female terminal being checked.
Measurement Insert the shaft into the female terminal being checked.(as shown in photograph) Inspection Results : If the tension of female terminal is proper, No need to replace the connector. : If the tension of female terminal is not proper, Replace the connector.

6.8.1 Wiring Repair Kit

Shrink Tube : Strip off the vinyl coating of each end of wires in approx.5mm to be connected. (Two wires together) : Insert each wire into the opposite ends of the Inline Solder connector and crimp the connector.

: Apply solder to the solder connector to complete the

repair. : Put the friction shrink tube over the area to be repaired. : Using the electric heater gun, shrink the tube onto the solder connector.

The shrunk form of the shrink tube should be securely wrapped around the solder connector.
