Global Spectrum and London Knights partner on Digital Power Ring

New In-Game Feature will premiere at Budweiser Gardens during Sundays NHL Preseason Game
(London, Ontario) Global Spectrum Facility Management and the London Knights Hockey Club are proud to announce the unveiling of the LED 360 Power Ring at Budweiser Gardens. The big reveal will take place at the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs preseason game on Sunday September 15, 2013. We are very proud to unveil our new Power Ring for this exciting season. This is a project we have wanted to install for several years and are excited to reveal it to Londoners and the Southwestern Ontario community during the NHL preseason game, said Brian Ohl, Global Spectrum Regional Vice President and General Manager at Budweiser Gardens. This event is momentous for Global Spectrum and for our hockey fans, and this Power Ring upgrades our facility to world-class standards, comparable to NHL buildings. The new LED 360 Power Ring will not only enhance the fan experience, it will encourage fans to get into the game in a variety of interactive ways. The 360 degree digital signage comes measures about 790 feet in circumference and is approximately 2 feet high with many features and capabilities including animation, advertising, and will allow for live score updates from across the league. With this installation, the London Knights Hockey Club are set to become the only OHL team to have a 360 degree Power Ring in their home arena and as hosts of the Memorial Cup this year, the timing could not be better. "The London Knights Hockey Club is extremely excited to incorporate the LED 360 Power Ring into our game day production. The 360 elevates our game day experience allowing more interaction with our fans in attendance and it refreshes how our corporate partners can communicate their brands and messaging on a game by game basis to the local community" said Geoffrey Hare, the Director of Marketing for the London Knights. The Power Ring was purchased and installed by Daktronics, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing electronic scoreboards stationed in Brookings, South Dakota. The company provides programmable display systems and large screen video displays, key to a major scale sports and entertainment atmosphere.

Power Ring displays are commonly used to provide fans with extra stats and information to accompany the action on the main video display, as well as getting the crowd into the game by showing game prompts at exciting moments during the event, said Dave DAmico, Daktronics sales representative. They are also very beneficial to sponsors as they can showcase advertising throughout any given event. The LED 360 Power Ring takes approximately 7-8 days to get fully installed and fully operational. Installation is well underway with crews working overnight to get the LED Ring ready to launch in time for the big reveal at the Flyers vs. Leafs preseason game this Sunday, September 15 at 6:00pm.
