REACHING OUT TO ONE AND ALL

Telecommunication networks, especially in the emerging economies, require technologies that enable fast, cost effective deployment. These networks must be capable of providing Broadband Access and Value Added Services in addition to the basic toll-quality voice connectivity in the local loop under diverse deployment scenarios - for high-density urban and suburban subscriber areas or for sparsely populated areas. corDECT Broadband is a state-of-the-art wireless access system that uses ETSI DECT air interface with extensions for wireless in local loop service and delivers toll-quality voice and simultaneous data on a per user basis. corDECT Broadband offers telecommunications service providers a solution that has the following features and benefits:

corVAN acts as the base station controller for the corDECT Broadband Fixed Wireless Access system. It interfaces with the PSTN exchange on one end and the base stations on the other. corVAN handles upto 5000 subscribers on V5.2, SS7 & R2MF providing tollquality voice and dedicated internet connectivity to every user.

Base Station (XBS) The XBS provides radio coverage to subscribers up to 10 km under clear LOS conditions. Using the DECT air interface, each XBS provides 12 simultaneous channels and typically supports 50 subscribers at 0.1E (per subscriber) and 1% grade of service (GOS).

The Features
Simultaneous voice and dedicated Always-ON broadband access (up to 256 Kbps) Toll-quality voice - 32 Kbps ADPCM Comprehensive suite of switching functions available for up to 5000 subscribers with SS7 or R2MF Can be used as an Access Network to transparently support all features provided by the local exchange on V5.2 Transparently supports Facsimile, Voiceband modems, IVRS and Pre-paid billing services Supports metering pulses, class of services and payphones Comprehensive Element Management System (EMS) with user friendly GUI based Operation and Maintenance Station

BXD
Modularity Minimal start-up requirements Scales seamlessly as subscriber demand grows Provides comprehensive coverage while minimizing sunk cost and uncertain investment Flexibility Employs innovative sub-systems Ensures coverage in widely dispersed subscriber areas and varying terrain Relay Base Station (RBS) Enables cost-effective deployments in urban, suburban and rural environments Reliability Ensures network quality and uptime using the corDECT EMS Provides an overall, synoptic, easy-to-read view of the network Continually monitors network health and performance to minimize downtime and operational losses Base Station Distributor (BXD) BXD connects to corVAN on two E1 (G.703) links through copper, fiber or radio. It connects up to four base stations on twisted pair to provide coverage to subscriber pockets. Multiple BXDs can be collocated for larger subscriber concentrations. RBS serves as an additional hop on air interface between the XBS and the subscriber. It uses the same frequency band as the XBS and in combination, provides coverage up to 25 km away (under LOS conditions) from the XBS. RBS is capable of working solely on solar power which makes it ideal for deployment in environments with little or no power infrastructure.
