IFP Philippines Program Director and Program Officer provided IIEF provided PDO before our fellows depart to Host PDO before the fellows depart to Host Country Country -Staying in contact with the Fellows -Maintaining contact with Fellows' academic advisors -PSSC used the lessons learned to make the gathering of returnees in the Re-Entry Sessions in line with building a regional community of Alumni -Maintaining contact with Fellows and the Host University -Depending on the time of the Fellows returning to the country
Philippines -IFPPAA give a presentation on the association and invite the returnees to become members -Develop a network of scholars -Encourage the mentoring of active Fellows with alumni who were in the same field of specialization -Set-up a database of job opportunities for returnees -Fund small community-based projects -Provide a forum for sharing the research output of IFP-Philippine alumni -Create, renew, and sustain linkages among IFP-Philippines alumni -Establish the strategic directions of the IFPPAA in the next three years and its network (ISJN)
Indonesia -Increase the capacity of the alumni -Become the medium to contribute to society and internally it serves to improve their own capacity -Get involved in training and research across the country
Profile
-Philippines is grouped into three major island regions Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao -Indigenous cultural communities comprise some 15% and Muslim ethnic groups about 11% of the Philippine population that currently stands at 92 million -Filipino women actually hold an advantage in terms of educational achievement
Challenges
-Identified through the needs assesment process -Dissemination of the IFP Model (Workshop, website, brochures and Posters, Newspaper/Print Ads, TV Exposures, Radio Plugs) -Interaction with Regional and International Partners -Maintaining the Alumni Association (IFPPAA)
Lesson Learn
-Having a lot of strategies to pave the way for IFP Philippines to reach its major target groups is needed.
-Having a freedom to design a program that suitable for a country will be a great advantage for its people -Have a long term period for a program will give the opportunities for them to evaluate, improve, and make it perfect
