DNVs CM Arrangements
Machinery CM Applicable for all components on DNVs Machinery list, except diesel engines Turbine CM (Now included in Machinery CM) Applicable for steam propulsion systems;
Main and auxiliary turbines Reduction gears Turbo generators Steam driven pumps

Thruster CM / Water Jet CM Applicable for thrusters for propulsion and DP and water jets

Approval process
Approval of the CM programme shall cover the following:
Maintenance strategy, including business goals Training programme/plan Monitoring methods for components, including baseline Condition monitoring equipment Implementation of condition monitoring in the planned maintenance system Programme for lubricating oil analysis

A company approval will be granted if the above documentation is accepted

Initial survey onboard

Survey Arrangement CM is granted the vessel

Annual surveys

Possible future for follow-up CM in DNV

Approved Service Suppliers for CM New Rules under development: Condition monitoring as part of the periodical surveys of machinery and equipment can be carried out by a qualified company approved by the Society. This minimizes the requirement to oversee the condition monitoring onboard each individual vessel.
